Cant stand that guy, his videos rarely if ever fit the thumb nail and he's wrong half the time.

Now his crap videos are going to pop up in my feed.

Exactly! He says what he thinks and what his 50+ years of experience has taught him. Listen to him if you want, or not. No one cares.

When he showed how shoddy the late model Chargers were when the laminated glass door lite had a crack in it, that was it fir me. In my years of doing auto glass, I never saw laminated glas in any curved door light. Federal law mandates tempered glass everywhere but in windshields.

That right there showed me how full of $hit he is.

I think his head is stuck in 80s/90s turbo technology in regards to torque curves. He said the 2.4T 4-banger only puts out more torque than the outgoing V6 at high RPMs. It's just the opposite.

Saw that one as well and laughed. He has other videos mentioning 4runner rust issues. I also file it under "click bait". How many "I'm Done" "Shutting Down" videos has he done lately.

He’s a hack mechanic that happens to be right about old Toyota’s being reliable…..beyond the obvious about Toyotas, don’t take what he says at face value.

Why people bring him their cars to review is beyond me. I cringe when he knocks body panels with his knuckles and leans on the car with his keys dangling from his belt loop.

He's become very formulaic and extra click-baity over the years. He almost never provides repair instruction any longer. It's just the the same old overview of a 20 year old customer car, boring trip through the ODB scan and a test drive.

Interesting. So many post about maintenance cost overheads on Turbo engine. Reliability of Turbo engines in Mercedes vehicles. Low resale value of Turbo powered engine vehicle. Replacing Vacuum pumps etc.

Do you work for Toyota by any chance :)

V6 Twin Turbo would be more suitable in the 2025 T4R. Just my 2cs.

i find him entertaining. Again pay attention to the subject and his dialogue. None of us are perfect. Possible he has moved away from some of the maintenance stuff because of age. Can’t crawl under cars forever. As much as I enjoy working on my own cars. I also enjoy paying a younger pro to take care of the problems. Save time and effort.

I agree, no one is forced to watch his stuff so I don't see the value of everyone ripping on him.

If Toyota listened to people like him and ADM, Tinkeradvanture, etc more, they would be in a better place today. Not everything automotive is about new tech and gadgets and computer modules replacing every basic mechanical function.

No, i just don't like spam.

That motor (Tundra) has more problems than the 2.4 so far, are you sure you want that?

Otherwise, I'd say buy a Bronco if power is your main concern (in this segment). I've steered away from them for reliability, but as many have said, the gap is closing (or has already closed).

I do know that Ford has been making turbo'd trucks for a long time now, so they probably know what they're doing at this point. If I had to buy a new full-size truck today, I'd be looking at Ford first (assuming I need a real truck, otherwise a Ridgeline is top on my list for vehicles with a truck bed).

A true indictment of the ignorance that has inundated modern society. "The Car Care Nut" has a much more informative channel, but true knowledge and substance is boring. Scotty used to do informative videos years ago, but he has been mostly a clickbait channel for the last few years.

    Any press is good press.

There's a lot of great stuff on YouTube. But, there's also a lot of BS. And, if you get enough viewers/followers, people start to believe everything you say (hell, the mainstream media isn't much different).

He is definitely a particular type of presenter. But for people like me who are die hard old school Toyota fans, he's alright. I suspect he caters toward people like me and that's okay. He is a huge fan of the late Ford Panther Platforms and GMT800 trucks so he is no dummy or fanboy of any particular brand.

If one is all about tech and gizmos then there are no shortage of other Social Media personalities to follow.

I don't really care about tech stuff. Power windows are about as fancy as I need to get.

I just can't stand the click-bait video titles and phony drama.

I do like Tinkerer. He's the only Youtuber I seem to really enjoy, regarding Toyota truck stuff. I like a few bass players on there as well.
