We went from San Antonio to Amarillo the first day. Then Amarillo to Colorado Springs. I think the total was 12-14 hours we took our time. There is a lot of cool roads according to my Son. The road the picture was called Gold camp Road it opened up the day before we went. It is an easy road you don’t need 4wd but it overlooks Colorado Springs. On YouTube look for off-roading Colorado Springs.

How do you like the Kenda tires for both street and off-road?

Hike at 3pm and you are shaded on the west-side. Enough time to get up the hill and back down before dark. Great hike to the saddle just bring lots of water and don't step on a rattle snake. :) Already 95 plus out there...

the hike to the wave cave is very nice. A little steep towards the top if you go with young kids but not impossible.
Did it with my wife and our dogs, 3 weeks ago or so in the morning when it was still in the 50s. Now it’s getting hot so you’d want to bring tons of water

No it’s called the wave cave by superstition mountain. The access road is through the peralta dirt road

I camped there with my wife, had breakfast at the local cafe, where we listened to the farmers talk about hay. Raking hay, rolling hay, irrigating hay, drying the hay.... My wife had a black eye from a mosquito bite, so everyone was looking at me funny. The place actually went quiet when we first walked in, lol, like a western movie cliche.

I made another post under "Photography Thread" with more awesome sunset pics. But here are few of Casper at Sardis Dam (Missi'ppi) at same sunset.

Picked up the new camper in Vegas. One canyon over from Zion. Lake front property at Powell Lake for a night anyway.

I'd be curious as well. Have a 4 day motorcycle ride coming up in WNC and always looking for new routes.

They’ve held up well so far, I’ve probably put about 15,000 miles on them. Road noise isn’t too terrible. I haven’t ran another off road tire to compare them to, but they have a lot of traction in the rocks and snow.

Where do you ride in WNC? I trailer my bikes up to our place in Highlands from Atlanta and in any direction I leave from Highlands it is always fun in the twisties: Tail of the Dragon, Asheville, Highway 64, etc. I am also guessing that you are not on a street bike if you are thinking of going to where the picture was taken...

I live just outside of Charlotte so typically we are taking random day trips to find some good curves. Half the guys have touring bikes and half have "adventure" bikes so it can vary if it's paved or not.
The next run up there we'll be staying in Little Switzerland for 4 days. Still putting routes together but each day should be about 250 miles round trip.
I really like the Highlands and Cashiers area. Definitely blessed with bike roads. Trying to talk the wife into retiring closer to Brevard but she's more of a beach person...

Yes, We love the Highlands area. My mother bought a house there in the late 90's and I've been going up there ever since. I have several bike runs that are my go-to. One I really like is Highway 107 from Cashiers to Sylva and then back through Franklin. Brevard is a cool little college town as well. And then you have Asheville, which offers so much to do as well. The whole area is beautiful.
