Stumped!! entire right side lean!

UPDATE: Moved the rear 1.25” spacer to the passenger side coil. Then reset the KDSS by opening the valves two turns and rocking the truck back and forth. Finally, raised the passenger side with KDSS valves open to the same height as the driver, then closed the valves, and finally set the truck back down. I”m now within 1/8 inch driver to passenger in the rear!

Nice, my advice is to not obsess too much over the lean. I find it comes and goes on mine depending on how and where I’ve driven it.

My front end is basically level within 0.25” all the time, but my rear end will vary between 0.250” and 1” of lean. I rarely get over 1” of lean now though, but it does happen occasionally, and usually just the rear. I’ve mostly decided to stop looking for it, but still measure more than I care to admit

Have any of you noticed more lean once parked, engine off, than when driving?

I had a theory that most of this lean is static, not while the truck is in motion. So I found a level spot and did some measurements. After sitting over night I had a 1/2” passenger side lean front and rear. I drove the truck around the block, parked, and left the engine running. Less than 1/4”. I turned the engine off and waited for a bit. Back to 1/2”.

My theory is that some pressure that builds in the accumulators to balance the system while driving, bleeds back out once the engine is off and so the rams get a little pressure which lifts the driver side up while parked. This would help explain why the valve based lean correction works and also why it doesn’t tend to stick long term.

 

Happens all the time. It will work itself out over time. If it gets really bad, just loosen the KDSS valves 1.5 turns (have to count exactly) and rock the truck back and forth. Then close them back to the original location.

 

In GX world they have a service bulletin to fix KDSS lean

 

I'm going to follow your lead on these valve tricks, I have a consistent passenger lean. I also have the DrKDSS kill switch, so first maybe I take a bunch of right turns with the valves open over 12mph, and park sloped to the passenger.
*Part of me wonders if my garage floor sloping to the driver side is what is causing this since the 4R is garage parked for as long as 36 hours at a time, multiple times a week

I kinda wanna continue to grow my skills and tackle adding spacers too. Invest in one of the death spring compressor tools.

Your theory is very smart, that is part of my problem, that and my garage floor lean!

 

It’s really pretty simple and with your abilities it will be easy. Just do the minimum recommended turns on the valves and mark them so you can count the turns. Rock it back and forth and close the valves . You got this!
