I did the math. In the worst case scenario I would need 300 gallons of gas to drive to Alaska and back. Around $1,500

    You miscalculated.

Worst case scenario you get eaten by a bear before you get back since you can’t bring your guns

It's worth a look. Among other things, the ratio of successive numbers in the Fibonacci sequence approaches the golden ratio as they get large.

My averages so far are in line with your results. Better by around 10% when I buy the 'good' gas in Nevada State!

On my '19, it comes on when there's around 4.5-5 gallons left. Cruising range seems to hit 0 when there's around 3 gallons left.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they're going by the estimated fuel range after refueling, which isn't very accurate, either. :notsure:

Damn, got me off on a math tangent. I thought I was doing great just remembering the order of operations! That is most interesting, thanks for the link. Now back to gasoline stuff.

i havent actually done the math, but anecdotally I suspect the light comes on at 3x the avg mpg left.

Edit: Which is a stupid way to say "3 gals left" on my part. What I mean is I've run it down pretty low since new, filled up at 0 range and beyond. And its fluctuated .5-.75 of a gallon depending on if the last tank was mainly highway vs in town

    Exactly.

I get about two weeks out of a tank.

It’s a joke.. about as precise as miles / tank.
