Got my battery replaced today... in my new to me as of Saturday 4R. Wouldn't turn over when I left to go to work. Dealership brought a new one out free of charge.

Talk about some long odds. First day I go to drive it after bringing it home and it wouldn't start.

Shoot us an update on improvement in sound when you’re done. Overall a solid price for an all around system plus speakers (once both transactions are included). Hoping it will sound better than OEM Audio Plus once you’re said and done.

Battery in my new to me t4r gave up the ghost. Priced replacements at autozone and another retailer for $220 for a replacement battery. Checked Costco and saw they carry a suitable battery for $120. Prior battery was from 8/2020, duralast brand. Disappointed it only lasted 3 years.

Installed '1.25 Spydertrax spacers and I'm stoked on how it turned out. There's some slight frame rubbing but nothing I can't deal with

I never thought about putting the tractions boards up like that. I’ll have to look into that option.

Out of curiosity, was the Duralast an AGM?

Just checking as a friend that you used the red loctite and a torque wrench to triple check?

they look great! Have the same ones and love the look.

Did oil changes today. Went ahead and upgraded to the metal filter housing on the 4R.

    FOKES Oil Filter housing... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K3D11TB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

FYI to those reading, swap the orings worth the Toyota orings. One that it comes with didnt seal correctly. We'll leave it at that. Lol.

Did you Swap the stand pipe from OEM Plastic filter bowl? They are different lengths. I did when I did my 1st on 2018 TRD OR & will swap plastic for metal when I do 1st oil/filter change on this 4Runner. Don't want plastic Bowl melting, sucked into eng. to seize it up :stirthepot: :boink:

P.S. Says it doesn't fit my 2023!?!?!:notsure: I'm gonna check the one I bought for my old 2018. still in my Amazon orders.

Okay, so i have these too. Everywhere I read and people I spoke to said be 100% sure to use loctite. It may be worth ensuring by going back and doing them with loctite. Worth it in my opinion but it’s up to you. Maybe others have advice.

    @FastEddie6
can you tell me more about the minor frame rub, where exactly? [since Spidertrax 1.25's I have rubbing sometimes only when turning while hitting an incline. I've green masking taped multiple areas but haven't located the culprit. Is it frame rub I wonder, I have 0 offset 9" wide wheels w/ 285/70's...or it's suspect balljoints/bushings lol]
    THANKS
help, on my thread, also appreciated

Mounts are made by TRED--good quality, fit my budget boards perfectly, not too expensive, and fairly versatile but impractical to remove. They're designed to sit like that on some Aussie basket rack; I used motorcycle mirror mounts on the lower bar of the Gobi to hold them at an angle. Thinking of putting them flat on one of the removable crossbars instead. I'll lose real estate, but that way I can take them off with a couple of bolts.

Hmmm, the car care nut scolded us for using that knockoff housing, plus he seemed horrified at the thought of bending the tabs and swapping the internal pipe. I probably should have left the plastic one alone, but at least I got the genuine part--it wasn't particularly expensive.

I didn't have to bend the tabs, I just pushed it down & rotated 90 degrees to release it.

Finally got my ExtremeLED 38” light bar working. Was having trouble with wiring and the oem harness was a bit bulky. I ordered a wiring harness from Caliraised. Super helpful crew. The original set wasn’t working for some reason and pulling too much power. Called them and had a new wiring harness in 2 days. Now finally have it installed and working.

Low profile with half Sherpa fairing.

Yes. After the old faithful, i swapped all parts and just kept the metal housing. Found out the hard way. Lol.

Bright side.....garage floor is now cleaned like I've been meaning to do.

Both valances painted, grill replaced, and raptor lights installed. I'm 50/50 on keeping the raptor lights because I think they are a bit dorky, but we'll see. Tires coming soon. I'm leaning towards either KO2's or Wildpeaks. Any suggestions? Also got our first snow fall of the year today!

So grateful for this answer! Thought I had something wrong with my new to me 2019 4R this morning until I saw your answer and checked my back window. Somehow it was rolled down a hair! Whew

    Lots…
Have the raptors too. Went white so I get a little light out of them. We are all dorky on the forum. Part of the fun!
