I've been dreaming of a Pro upgrade similar to what the Raptor is to the F150, Bronco, or Ranger.

I don't think us Toyota fans will ever see that, unfortunately.

I think the new Tacoma Pro seats are about as extreme as Toyota is gonna go

Oh, God! I really hope the 4Runner doesn't get those!

Luckily I don’t want a pro either way, but fingers crossed those seats stay in the taco :anonymous:

Plus the precious legroom in the back seat is even less

Those new Tacoma seats look gimmicky as hell.

The 2024 Fortuner and Landrcruiser didn't get those seats. But neither of those vehicles offer a TRD Pro model.

They are offered only with the Tacoma TRD Pro, so it seems likely 4Runner TRD Pro would also get them. The red/black seats look sweet, but definitely could do without the shock stuff. Not finna race the Baja 500.

I think if you get the Tacoma with these seats, you are not planning on having anyone but a child or dog in the back seat.

As long as those are only going in the PRO, then I guess I don't care. Affordable or not, I probably wouldn't want the PRO.

For all we know the hypothetical 6th gen TRD Pro will be a "hardcore" edition with rear seat delete and additional bracing, like the GR Corolla:

I was hoping they’d go more aggressive on the new LC. Maybe the 4R will pick up some slack, but I’m not that hopeful

Yeah, the LC certainly doesn't appear to be the Bronco killer some folks were hoping for.

If they follow suit of the new Tacos, it looks like the 6th gen could be a better off-roader than the 5th gen. It wouldn't be hard for Toyota to make that happen, but I'm sure the penny pinchers will make them water it down from what we'd like to see.

Those customers have probably already been alienated due to the LC250 being smaller than the previous LC200, and/or they will probably just switch to the LX since that's the US equivalent of the LC300

Another theory would be that Toyota introduced the 250 to satisfy previous 4Runner buyers who prefer a larger 4Runner and more luxury so that they can make the 6th gen a tad smaller and more off-road oriented.

This might just be me fantasizing out loud, though.

Sometimes I accidentally tap my screen while I'm replying to a message and it starts typing my reply in the middle of that message.

It’s probably an insanely difficult job to be a decision-maker on such large scale projects. You really have to know your customer base. Quality alone doesn’t sell like it once did. That’s how Toyota got to where they are but a lot of folks don’t consider that as important.

Leaves more room for the aftermarket to swoop in and make lots of fun parts :D

Looking at those gigantic wheel wells, I wondered if maybe they just built it with the aftermarket in mind. It's going to be interesting to see what the actual potential is for the 250. Like: what size tires will clear the body mounts? And, how much travel will the suspension allow?

It's a little frustrating, because my decision to go all in on my '19 is dependant on information we don't have yet. :goingcrazy:

I’m sure they thought a lot about the aftermarket. Like with the new tundra fitting 35s without any kind of body mount chop needed.

I share in the frustration, because if I don’t like the new 4R I need to either buy a current 4R or look harder at the LC and see if that would suit my needs. Come on Toyota, we need the tea!

Has anyone seen those new TRD seats in person?

Are they comfortable? Will they new 4Runner have them?

I'm interested in the new Tacoma TRD but I'm still eyeing the new 4Runner as well!

It will probably get the same wheelbase as the shortest Taco configuration, not the extended wheelbase one.

It is not going to have a 131" wheelbase!

Why do people keep assuming it will have the same wheelbase? They can make the frame any length they want. Just because they might share suspension and drive train parts doesn't mean they will have the same wheelbase.

If that's actually good information in post 1355, I'm sure it's meant to imply that the styling will be similar.
