That's unfortunate. That's my problem with them. They have no clear images of the units they are selling. You just have to make out what they have and hope it's the correct one.

Hey! I am about to pull the trigger on this set up on my 2019 Pro. Is it seriously just plug and play and everything works? It makes me nervous spending so much money. Everything works like the OEM microphone, steering controls, backup camera, etc.... Thanks!!!

Yeah everything was pretty much that easy. Don't forget about the amp tho. That was the part that sucked to get to. You may need to get an OEM nav harness that meets from the top part of the headunit to a lower part of it. Yours may come with it though depending on who you're buying from.

Yeah, there is a guy that has one for sale with radio, amp and adapter harness (with GPS adapter) for $3k. It feels like a lot of money, but the OEM look is what I want, and it's better than paying $15-20k just to upgrade to the 2020+ Pro. Especially since my car is paid off.

Thanks for answering so fast... so you haven't had any troubles with yours at all since installation? Did you install it yourself?

No worries, happy to help! Yeah I did everything myself, the only issue I ran into was the USB harness and Android auto. I just installed a Motorola MA1 wireless adapter and that fixed it up. Was having some issues with it on some longer drives but I had it just behind the radio and I think it was over heating. I have now put that in the dash and that so far seems to have fixed the issue.

There are Chinese SD cards available on Amazon that will update the maps and bring it to 2023. The latest version ends with 76.
There would still be a 1 year delay, as that's the time it takes to populate data and have it available for retail.

How do you access the SD card on these 2020+ headunits?

I would assume you put it in a USb adaptor and connect in to the USB port.

If anyone is interested, I'm going to have a 2022 OEM (non-JVL) radio with navigation for sale in the next day, including the harness for the 2014-2019 as well! The radio is in like new condition from a 4runner with no accidents.

In addition, you keep all the OEM functions that you typically lose on an aftermarket head unit. 8"inch screen, better camera resolution with Android and apple CarPlay, you also have the option of adding a front face camera. This is a plug and play unit that doesn't require any mods and keeps the factory look as well.

Thats not accurate info. The hazard connector is the same. However, you need to swap the hazard switch button from 14-19 model to the 20+ radio and works perfectly fine.
In addition, the frame that surrounds the hazard can also be detached from 14-19 radio and reinstall on the 20+ radio to click back in securely.

Doesn’t matter as much as the hazard button not fitting. The 2020+ is a momentary switch whereas the pre 2020 is SPST so you have to swap the buttons

Is there a tutorial on swapping the switches? b/c it looked like to remove the switches youd break the dash pieces holding um in..

I made the switch from my 2011 work in the 2022 headunit by swapping the wiring harness and wrapping electrical tape around the old switch.
The switch that came with my 2022 unit was faulty so had to do the swap .The wiring harness connector is also different for both switches.

I haven’t as of yet. I’ve been pretty busy at work/family and not much time on my plate to do so.

I might be going a different route myself in these next couple of months and may have the whole swap available for sale. The 21 Amp, Headunit, and wiring for 19 with JBL. I'll post more about it when I'm closer to deciding.
