Thanks. Yes, it has parking mode- if you buy this camera, you'll also need to buy the hardware kit for parking mode. This allows you to run a constant power to the camera to allow parking mode to operate with the vehicle off. Lots of extra wire I bunched up behind the driver's kick panel. I'll eventually trim back the excess but wanted to try out the camera for a while.

Only trim piece I took off was the driver's side A-Pillar. Very easy. One 10mm bolt and then pull gently and it will pop off. A little bit of work to get the bottom edge out and back in correctly, but just go slow.
Best to remove it so you can run and secure wires away from the air bag. You don't want them crossing over it.

Surprisingly, I didn't have to remove any trim other than that, even with running the wire to the rear camera. I just ran it along the top edge of the trim, tucking it in with a trim tool.

 

My next mod just arrived (Thank you UPS man!):

I'm going to have them installed this Saturday.

It will peel off if coated over rust. POR-15 claims as rust converting paint are not supported by their instructions of use. Says to clean the rust up to bare metal, in which case any paint will do. Ive done it before and it doesn't hold up. I use phosphorous oxide converter and off the shelf chassis paint with a hell a lot better results. With that said, nice work, Djwantke.

 

I still believe in Rustoleum. It's the fish oil!

Looks awesome Yotaholic..!! I bet you will love BP-51s comfort, maybe you will play with the compression and rebound to your taste. (Many aftermarket shocks only allow compression adjustment)

TRD off-road premium is most of the times the better choice. My modified KDSS truck will eat the stock TRD Pro for a snack.

 

Bought a silver-top FJ 4WD shift knob from Japan for better low-light visibility, Toyota P/N 36303-35210-B0:

 

Drove it for 1st time this week, working from home has saved gas$$$ not that I worried about it after all these yrs of commuting. Next week it'll sit in parking lot Mon-Fri travel for work.

 

5100’s installed @ 1.5 up front, still need to throw the 3/4 in rear. Discount Tire just did my wheels and new wild peaks! Super happy with the way it looks

 

Appt next week to get these wheels installed + Dr KDSS goodies + onboard compressor

 

Picked up some pretty nice finished birch sheets at my local lumberyard to do a rear seat delete/drawers/cubbies/sleeping platform. Should be a fun weekend.

 

First you're incorrect, second, I follow POR15's guidance and use the 3-steps of products; Degreaser, Metal Prep, Rust paint. I don't need advice on this. If you followed me or took two seconds to check my posts over the months, you'd know this dude.

I used Hella on my 3rd gen with relay and I wasn't sure about using without the relay. Don't you have to have a separate power source if using relay? These are 118db in they have a 133db I believe. I know these work about as good as narcan on someone overdosing at the red light and little old ladies hit their head on the headliners when you have to use them. I'm putting on my 5th gen and it's been so long I couldn't remember.

The ride is pretty good. Not sure what got chopped but it doesn't rub even at full flex on the RTI ramp

 

I was a bit disappointed on the RTI. The left front wheel kept going on the ramp and way before the left rear wheel the right front wheel was in the air. Will adjust the shocks to the full offroad mode and see if that increases flex in the front. I need to read the EMU BP51 manual.
