I need to get back on youtube as one guy had encountered this and, I believe , found a way to spoof the RFID to fool it into thinking it was new/replaced filter. If I can find it will definitely post it up for the group.

Nope - that's for the older generation. It was a small thing about the size of a rice grain that could be transferred to a new label. The new ones have an actual printed circuit board looking thing on the back of the label with a unique ID. If you try to take the old label and put it on a new generic filter, the fridge sees the old filter.

Wow. You can’t even get unfiltered water? So basically GE has managed to make refrigerators into a subscription based service. Or, put another way, they want rent on the product you bought from them. I’m sure they’re not the only ones doing this crap. It seems like a lot of manufacturers are attempting to make everything rent-based to maximize profits.

Good to find that out though, I would have never guessed this was something to look out for.

Yepper, Have a backup Brita filter just for times we reach end of life on the built in filter. It starts giving you a count down, If i remember correctly, about a week before being due.

Pull your label off and check. If you have the rice grain, you're good. If you have the printed circuit board you're screwed.

    I use Supertech.

They are not picky. As mentioned above, use the correct viscosity and change it at the correct interval, and you are good to go. ;)

Getting greased up to change oil in the A.M before heading up to PA next week. Just checked the garage and have Costco and Pennzoil lined up to refill with. Also going to rotate and clean/wax the wheels since this is going to be a slow week.

Your trucks are cool but KO2s are all what my truck is getting, nothing more. Mods will turn my Yota into a Jeep, not very dependable lol.

Whatever is on sale brand doesn't matter just change every 10k with a synthetic and it will go 500k miles

Knock on wood, all good so far. I kept it smaller, so that might help.

Was it really worth it? Wouldn't KO2s been sufficient for the wheeling that you wanted?

Penzoil is great stuff. Watch YouTube Project Farm. Comparing it to 40 years ago isn’t fair. Project Farm did a bracket with major oils. It came in a close second to Amsoil

I'm not dissatisfied, so I guess so. You could ask that question about any mods that anyone does.

That's exactly why I want their top of the line Ultra Platinum. It beats Mobile 1 by far. But the thing is, Pennzoil is pretty good with Chrysler. I'm just not sure how Toyota engines get along with Pennzoil. I've been using Pennzoil Ultra platinum in my Grand Cherokee, and that 3.6 runs great.

This truck has so many tools, I doubt I need anything more than good tires. I guess time will tell.

I know one thing for sure, Mopar is Pennzoil, but Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is better than Mopar.

Well, It definitely needs armor if you're going to screw around in rocks. A front bumper with recovery points and a winch are super handy. Once you start hauling around an extra couple hundred pounds, you're going to want to upgrade your springs at the very least.

Also, lift improves approach, break over and departure angles. And, the front skid sits super low with KDSS, so you're going to want a little extra clearance there.

I had stock size KO2's from 1300 miles until about 2 weeks after I lifted it (29K miles). It looked silly lifted with stock size tires, so I got some 285's. Then, later that year, I found myself with some extra cash and decided to go get another set of wheels and some real mud tires.

I also used mine stock for a year before I decided to do anything to it. If I went back to the beginning now, I don't think I would do anything differently.

But, I would agree that better tires are the most important thing right off the bat.

The MT 's are 295/70/17, so they're a big 33. When they are ready for replacement, I might just go with a 285. I don't know if the extra .5" is worth the rubbing.

I used Mobil 1, then switched to Penzoil Premium/Ultra. I think the engine runs quieter with the Penzoil but that can just be me.

I’ve used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W20 since brand new and no issues whatsoever. It’s constantly on backorder so have a few oil changes worth on hand.
