2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
In Southern California, if I come up on stopped traffic, especially on a freeway, I put on my hazards and let them flash four or five times. I have dash cam stuff to protect me legally and I have insurance, I would prefer not to go there in the first place.

I don't want to be rear-ended ever again.

Having a more noticeable turn signal or any other lighting is just a little more insurance, or should I say assurance, that someone will see you.

Thanks man. The stock bulbs are so dim during the day, you can barely see em. I'm also worried about people not seeing the turn signals or brake lights, especially with everyone on their damn cell phone while driving 24/7. Sometimes I think I'm the only one not texting while driving! Here's the link for them in case you change your mind. You could probably get a shop to install them for you for pretty cheap, and the lights themselves are only $45 for both sides. All it took was adding a +/- wire from the turn signal wire and running it straight down to the lights. Hardest part was making a cutout template for it by using some printer paper and triple checking it was the correct size. Then I used some spare zinc plated toggle bolts I had in the garage to keep em in place (2 per side). Overall it wasn't too bad and it makes a huge difference in visibility, plus I've always liked the sequential signals.

Another option would be to get some small strobe/chase lights and put them in the black plastic rear window trim pillar and run the wires into the cab and control it with the controller it comes with. This is my next install actually for times where weather is severe or there's a shit ton of dust kicking up and the people behind you can't see you for shit. Might be annoying having to turn it on and off constantly in traffic though. SoCal is notorious for heavy, slow moving traffic. Glad I don't have to deal with that as much as you do!

From what I've read, the adaptive cruise control uses the rear brakes to control the speed which is why a lot of newer cars are burning up the rear brakes faster than the fronts.

Got all the front lights wired up.

    Morimoto XB Amber
    Morimoto 4banger amber
    AJT Fang
    Yota Xpedition Raptors

Wired it up to an aux power switch so the fang+rapter are on the same DRL circuit (douchebag running lights)

    Love the way it looks

No adaptive cruise on my '19, though.

Looking at the 2019 brochure, it does have something called EBD, which somehow is supposed to adjust the braking proportion based on how the vehicle is loaded. If that's true, maybe my rears just get more abuse because of the constant extra weight I carry in the cargo area. :notsure:

For the longest, I sought to hardwire the head unit to the house battery for the WiFi Connect/Hotspot. What I learned, while doable not a good idea as it might interrupt/confuse the vehicle's computer system with it being on all the time and affect other systems.

While naive to electronics, in the same manner, I am guessing any connection to the hybrid will affect the computer system. Thus, keeping to a house battery separate from the vehicle's electrical bank is what I know (somewhat). Hope that helps.

Not sure these are the best pictures, I installed the WeBoost antenna on the hood attachments usually used for ditch lights (much brainstorming). For me, while it holds the antenna, it also puts the highest point in front of me as a reminder of the height of the empty bicycle rack behind me. To keep the hood equal, I installed driver and passenger attachments, even if the passenger side remains empty.

Helpful info. Thanks for sharing. Would you look at my WeBoost antenna setup above and share if it's a good or bad setup? While it works, I'm curious if it can be better. Thanks.

My wife’s 4runner got some hand me down Ray10s :D looks damn good! The 265s rub a bit in the front due to the offset, but a small trim should clean it up.

Not sure yet! Was planning on holding onto the headlights at least for a while in case I have any issues with the morimotos. Tail lights / fog lights I will probably try to sell.

What lugs? 'Yotas don't need no stupid lugs...

I guess somebody didn't train the monkey at the dealership well enough... Or they were rushing their underpaid employees...

I would have them mail me out a new set. It's cheaper than paying somebody shop time... Right?

Because it's not threaded long enough, there's a chance it could do damage to what few threads are actually making contact with that short thing.

How are the EZ Flares holding up? I like them but from what I've seen it's only held on by adhesive, is that correct? I wonder if you could secure them with some clips or something in addition to the adhesive. I'd be worried about them coming off eventually especially when you're kicking up rocks and chunks of mud

I hear your concern, holding up great the 3M is legit, I heated it up a bit too. BUT, I "sent it" with some screws I bought specifically in black + rubber washers. I should mention, I also cleaned and sanded the fenders properly first too. No going back haha I plan to paint the remaining white black

Ah okay, goodin. Nice call going for the black screws and rubber washers, blends in nice. 3M is good shit but I can't wrap my mind around only having adhesive holding it on ya know. Did you go with the standard size or the XL flares?

No ya you're right, you'd think it could tear off potentially. It could still tear off on me from some kinda impact but I have extra hahah
    I did 1" standard size, non-XL. I think XL is 2" brother

Those Morimoto lights look amazing. Did you have any issues with the install? I’m ordering a set this week for my 2023 trd pro. Still blows me away it didn’t come with sequential leds from factory

Thank you! The install went great!

To get it to work on a 2023 you just need to be sure that you have the LF531H harness (optional).

Without this harness you will have all sorts of strange issues.

Additionally, you don't have to connect the DRL fuse-tap wire to the fuse box at all. I wired it up to the headlights as instructed but zip-tied it and tucked it out of the way so its actually not going to the fuse box (did this in case later on down the road I discovered a reason I would need it). I believe you could omit it alltogether.

When wired this way, the DRL work just fine on the lights using the stock control stick when it's set to the DRL position, and you avoid any issues with fuse-taps such as tapping into a critical engine circuit or dealing with EFI2 coming on randomly after the car is turned off. If I had to tap it into the fuse box I would probably go into the cabin to IGN2.

Called a local Automotive shop known for good alignments to set up appt for next friday. Gonna get tires rebalanced/Rotated too. The lady said "we only do 4 wheel alignment" Ok But how do you "Align" solid rear axle?
Is this where the match front to rear??
