She's getting there. Over the last few days, I've re-mounted the awning using a set of Sherpa brackets (previously it was just mounted directly to the side of my roof rack, which was not an ideal set-up, the Sherpa brackets are awesome).

Then I changed out the front grille to the TRD Pro style grille, with a kit from YotaXpedition. They were great folks to deal with, and with a 30% discount for having the grille with one (hidden) plastic tab partially broken, it came to about $150, which is far less than half of the OEM grille.

Finally, I mounted a set of Maxtrax, a Pelican BX140R cargo case, and three 10L Wavian jerry cans and a 10L Specter water can. I had to modify the jerrycan mounts to work with my roof rack, but they are now secure.

Thank you! I would eventually like to go black or bronze, but for now I have too many other things that take priority for the funds. :D But that said, I definitely don't hate the ORP wheels, for being silver, they are kind of nice.

I wonder that black TRD Pro like grill giving the mismatching look. With stock grill TRD Offroad wheels look great on Silver (to my eyes)..:)

I think you're right. Having less silver and more black in the grille area makes the wheels stand out more. Mine probably would look better with black wheels. But the TRD Pro wheels are even narrower than the ORP wheels right? I thought the ORP are 7.5" and the Pro are 7"?

I did the photoshop of black, silver, and bronze before going to bronze on my silver. But I was more than happy with originals for 6 years. I really like the black rims on white but not on silver for some reason.

I played around with the color thing on one of the big tire websites, and you're right, the bronze looks very sharp on a silver vehicle.

That is correct TRD Pro wheels are narrower than TRD Offroad wheels. Why I picked TRD Offroad wheels even for my Limited when I upgrade to 285/70R17 tires.

Though I don't have personal experience, If you are thinking of buying new TRD Pro wheels may be also have a look at FN wheels FX Pro. They look like TRD Pro wheels but they are 17x8 wheels which meets the specs to run bigger tires.

Actually, the 7" Pro wheels wouldn't be detrimental in my case. I've currently got 265's, and my next tires will be 255's. So 7" or 7.5" will work.

Weather warmed up a little: installing a behind-the-seat Molle storage system and minor repairs (driving lights need to be tightened, cleaning out the back & re-organizing, etc.)=if weather stays warm(er), might head to the range to try out some new Rugers.
Edit: Installing altimeter (I have a heart condition and altitude is important to monitor!)

OK, not technically anything I really did but the window sticker showed up on the website today (so I printed it out). Last week I went through the ordeal of asking the dealer to swap tires before I pick it up. Wanted Toyo AT3's in 275/70 but they're backordered so I told them to go with stock size (but in an LT)....

Hoping to have it next week...but if not, no big deal. Put the deposit down mid-October (same day I pulled back my deposit on a Bronco...order banks for Broncos still not open, dealers can order 'dealer stock' but it's limited to lower trim levels and no Sasquatch...I was gonna get a WildTrak...4Runner saving me about $15k)

Have you considered asking your PCP to write you a prescription for Acetazolamide? I live at 6k feet elevation, and often go up to 14k for a drive and a hike (Pike's Peak). I asked my doc to prescribe me Acetazolamide in both 125mg (you take it prophylactically a couple days before you head to elevation), and also some 500mg pills for emergencies. No more headaches and dizziness at 14,100'. :D

My issue isn't dizziness and headaches, it's breathing. I can do a drive or visit my daughter in Flag (6900')

Past 2 days, I put these little things on my outside mirrors. I'm still on the fence about these. I like the idea of them. They are universal fit. They're supposed to help keep rain off mirrors. It's not 100% but in rain yesterday, did a pretty decent job.

And yesterday I replaced the clear 3rd brake light with a dark tinted one.

I never understood the fascination with darkening/smoking/tinting brake light housings.

Hahaha! HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema), HACE (High Altitude Cerebral Edema), and altitude sickness in general have little to do with age, as far as I know. The last time I was up on Pike's Peak I saw a boy about 12-years-old with altitude sickness, and his middle aged (and out of shape) mother was doing just fine. I know sometimes when I go up to elevation I get headaches, and the next week I can go and nothing. It seems to be quite random. A few years back I went on a group ride with some of my motorcycle buddies from California up Pikes Peak, and out of 7 of us, one guy got it, and he was the most physically fit of all of us. When our scout troop would climb Mt. Whitney (14,505'), at least a couple kids in the group would get it. So again, it seems to be random, at least in my experience.

Gotcha! I have been skiing and mountain biking out west and the altitude definitely affects some people differently! Great to hear that you are enjoying the outdoors!

I mean, I get it, it goes along with the blackout look. I think it looks good and have thought about it in the past on several vehicles but... cost and practcality stopped me from pulling the trigger. To each their own - its a cosmetic upgrade more than practical upgrade unless I'm missing something.

It's completely cosmetic. Amazon price was right. Having said that, I was just curious what the local tint shop would charge for tinting the rear tail lights. Suffice it to say, sticker shock hit me real quick. I was think somewhere between $75-100.

    Nah.

    $250.

I said, "Thank you," and hung up.

I can’t stand the silver that shows up when not in use. Granted, it’s not ideal (or even illegal) to reduce the brightness of them. For me I want it to be darker but keep the same brightness for driving and braking.

HikeIt X9 installed, and it vaporized my skepticism. Found out that the remapped throttle response directs Mission Control greater than just a heavy foot can. Totally improves the driving feel (no added power; just feel of course). Still experimenting with settings. HI 9 is ludicrous; great acceleration but too touchy in normal driving. Auto is good for now. Any suggestions on settings?
