What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

This is ours, it has been on there about 3-3.5years now. Excuse the car, pretty filthy. We just got back from a trip haha. I will try to get a pic in the daylight tomorrow

 

Just an FYI:

If you are looking to get some matte grey TRD Rims, I've shopped around the parts.toyota.com website from various dealerships across the country, and the Greenville, SC dealership seems to have the best going rate at $161.25/piece (vs. $215.00/piece). Others dealerships vary in rate. If you use code "FREESHIP" it'll save you on shipping (obviously). They do charge sales tax, but it'd be worth in my book.

Last Saturday, I Finally got around to waxing the truck. Did wash, clay, mothers step 1 polish by hand (essentially paint cleaner),

$19 collinite 845 insulator wax-easy to use carnauba+polymer wax sealant-high gloss shine+durable hydrophobic beading & long lasting paint protection for cars/boats/trucks/rvs & motorcycles (16 fl oz)

collinite 845. Removed the millions of water spots that etched in over the last two years of parking outside since it was previously waxed.

 

Added a C4 Fab lowpro front bumper and a Rigd sidehack with a Expedition Essentials propane tank bracket to the rear. Waiting on a 30" light bar now. I think I need a build thread soon.

 

2022 ORP. Only some minor cosmetic mods at this point. Getting the bumper covers wrapped in matte black soon. Thinking of a leveling kit next, after that I'm not sure. Possibly a small wheel offset. A half or third rack couldn't hurt but I'm not sure the road noise and price justify the small amount of use I would get out of it.

Is your swingout hitch mounted? What brand? Looks nice a hell man.

 

C4 Low Pro bumper finally arrived. Hopefully rustoleum will cover the imperfections...

Looks cool, pointless to mount until you need it.

1. Shin bashing. Ouch.
2. Departure angle.
3. Jealous of the snow.

 

Rustoleum will probably work if it's not subjected to salt. I rattle canned my rock sliders and they were salt blasted and rusty after one relatively mild winter. I stripped the paint and am waiting for the POR 15 to dry as I type this. 2 "rust protection" coats followed by 2 coats of POR 15 Top Coat.

 

Bought the first set of new tires for my 2019 TRDOR today. Continental Terrain Contact ATs. 92k miles on the original Duelers which actually rode and handled well the entire time. I wanted something a step up as far as aggressive tread, while still being smooth and quiet. Same 265/70R17 size, not an upsize. My tire guy steered me right once again. Only about 50 miles so far, but I like them.

 

Also did rear brakes yesterday. Hard to tell from this pic, but at 92k miles, front pads on both sides were only half worn. So I left them alone, and am hanging on to the new pads I bought until needed. Probably another 50k miles. I'm a light-braker.



This rear pad was worn the most, at about 2mm+. So I replaced the rears. Rotors all around were decent, so I left them. I've heard both sides regarding rears wearing out first, but in my case, it's true.

 

I’m talking about the receiver assembly , I didn’t previously have one, and no snow that’s gravel lol

I’m running them also, I like them a lot. 2 years and 21,000 mi. Great for on road and light off road use. They are not talked about much unfortunately.

 

What year is your 4runner? Wondering if my 2015 is still under warranty...Mine is peeling too

 

I hit 600 miles in 4 days of ownership, washed the truck, and finally tinted the front windows

 

Finally got the TSO Incog bumper and Ironman winch put on. I have to button up some things this weekend.

 

Did some things, installed Toyota’s sliders. Definitely not the best, but $191.00 ea. from Bam. Good enough for now, looks good. Added the victory 4x4 console molle panels



and finally installed my Midland Mxt 275 which I’ve had for 6 months! Just zip tied the mount to the molle and attached the radio.

haven't figured out yet where and how to mount the mic. But it sits there pretty good for now on top of the panel, just can’t see the display while driving. And I did the ghost antenna with the lip mount on the passenger side of the hood.

 

I have a 2020 ORP. I ordered a 2022 ORP in December and it is scheduled to arrive at the dealer on 6/3. When I bought the 2020, I anticipated owning it for years so I equipped it with everything I wanted on it. It was my first black vehicle … and my last. I love the truck but hate the color. The 2022 is white which is what I really wanted to begin with.

I have now started the process to return it to stock. I have removed all of the interior LED lights, the “Tail as Turn” tail lamp harnesses, the TRD Pro grill, and the step bars. I am having the dealer remove the lift kit. I still have to remove the “Brite Box” kit, the side mirror LED pods, sequential turn signals, and the cold air kit. I’ll leave the Pedal Commander for last since I just have to unplug it.

Once the 2022 gets here, I get to start the reinstalling process. It’s going to be a fun summer.

 

Got my Eibach 2.0 coilover kit installed along with JBA control arms. On the schedule for next week is getting my wheels/tires on along with an alignment. Going to wait and see how settles and may adjust the front down a hair, I want to keep a little rake and right now its pretty darn level. Looks goofy right now to me with this lift on the stock wheel/tire combo!

 

Mine is a 2018, and I had mine done before the warranty expired.
