i bought those along with the blackout kit for mine during the Black Friday sale. sadly, its been too cold for me to install either yet.

did you use the dry or wet install for the laminex covers?

Tried one wet, and one dry. I read you should do it dry. I should have listened lol. It was more putzy wet, didnt want to stick, bubbles actually harder to remove, so I just put a little space heater near until it dried out enough. Then it was fine.

thx. i had originally intended to do the wet install, but the more videos i've watched, i am now leaning towards dry. you just reinforced that opinion.

You have to be careful year to year. Sometimes even mid MY as well. MFG’s may change things like hinges or latch mechanisms. Bolt sizes. Even body panels may change.

I would check the part numbers just to be sure they haven’t changed.

Good point... According to this.... https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-hood-5330135210?c=Zz1ib2R5JnM9aG9vZC1hbmQtY29tcG9uZW50cyZsPTEmbj1TZWFyY2ggUmVzdWx0cyZhPXRveW90YSZvPTRydW5uZXImeT0yMDIxJnQ9dHJkLW9mZi1yb2FkLXByZW1pdW0mZT00LTBsLXY2LWdhcw==

The same part number "Hood Sub Assembly (w/ Scoop) - 53301-35210", fits all 4-Runners 2010 - 2022. I think you should be safe.

And this one as well (the actual scoop?) https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota....0cmQtb2ZmLXJvYWQtcHJlbWl1bSZlPTQtMGwtdjYtZ2Fz

Today finally got around to the grille mesh mod. Love cheap mods that look good and have functionality. Suppose “look good” is in the eye of the beholder.
For $3 this was a solid win.
I drive 100mi a day and with spring and summer coming the bugs and farm debris on the road will be coming at the grille. The openings of the grille is quite enormous I feel.

Installed a Rago Steel Fuel Skid. The factory skid was already crumpled into the fuel tank at the leading edge.

its gutter guard from the orange home improvement store but the blue one has it too.
    I used metal.
I cut it with a pair of shears made for cutting light gauge metal- kinda like scissors.

one piece exactly covers the bottom.
Have to measure for the radar and cut that out as a U shape.
The guard comes with a flange- i left it and put it on the bottom.
Had to remove the lower front plastic piece to get it in as one piece.

for $3 if u mess up cheap to just redo

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Wow that stock skid plate took a beating! I like those camo Crocks LOL!

They are super easy to put on dry. They won’t cover the entire light, but you don’t notice with them installed. I had them on my Tacoma a loved them. I have avoided them on the 4 runner because of the greenish tint that people have mentioned.

ah dang, the green tint wasn't just my eyes then. I might order the ambers if I can find them, really curious now to see how they work with led.

I put these on my 22 Pro LED foglight just yesterday, but haven't yet had a chance to use them in at night. Will report back when I do. As for ease of install, absolutely. I installed mine without removing anything. Tip, though: use a plastic interior clip tool to press the film up under the edge of the surround. He shows that in action here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OgLMiiZKo4

Yeah, I have plenty of plastic trim removal tools. I might even wrap it in a thin microfiber cloth if it’ll fit between the gaps.

Is it possible to “tuck/hide” the side tabs under the black shroud or would they still be visible?

Added a few minor "bling" items this week:

Tufsinz Red "TOYOTA" overlays on top of my blacked out letters. Installed the LaminX amber foglight film too.

Also added the WeatherTech Bug/Stone guard and Window deflectors as well as the Matte Sticker on the Hood Scoop from earlier this week (see earlier post above for pics and link).

    FrontwRed_n_Yellow.jpg

    Red Grill Letters.jpg

Submarine Warfare Insignia "Dolphins" on the back window and a fun "BLACK BETTY" emblem (lower left). My nickname for the 4Runner... considering a "BAMALAM" personalized plate to go with it. HA!

It’s amazing how most dealerships don’t give a shit about the paint on a brand new $50,000 vehicle. Even if it is an off-roader. Fucking ridiculous
