Thanks man! Very happy with the way it turned out and the way it drives now with the new suspension and no spacers or pre loading.

    I washed it today.

Most of you would have been appalled at how bad it was

I had shit caked on top of shit :crapstorm:

Had to wash it twice just to get a few of the dirt layers off.......and it still isn't clean.

Almost makes me want to get a ceramic coat.

    Almost.

If you haven’t, try the foam canon. I’ve been using a super snowy soap that you let sit for five minutes. It bonds to the crap and it comes off on the rinse.

I do sometimes soap a second time and hand wash. Not often.

Mine is 8 months old with 13,000 miles also. I paid $2,000 above MSRP ($54,000 total) in May. I am really enjoying it! Congrats!

You both are slackers. I bought mine new and paid $5k over. It was one of two 4wd 4 runners in San Diego at the time. Not happy about the price at all. Happy with the vehicle.

Hope you two are enjoying yours as much as I am enjoying mine :cheers::cheers:

I have not tried it but I will look into it. Thank you.

Do you just use regular car washing soap (I use Meguiars) or do you use something special?

Can you actually use these as a step to reach stuff on the roof? Or is it barely enough to get a foot on it? The OEM FJ Rock Rails I had on my FJ were like that, meaning they stuck out barely enough to get a few toes on... but I could technically stand on them. I wondering if the 4Runner OEM rails are the same as the FJ design because from your pictures it looks like they extend out a bit further than I expected.

Maybe if you are Alex Honnold and are wearing really good rock climbing shoes you can climb up and reach the roof. For me that is a feature, not a bug, and why I wanted this particular rock rail/slider. I would say it is pretty much impossible to use them as a step. I have fairly big feet, and it is impossible for me to get more than a toe wedged in between the slider and the frame.

It really is all about the hand wash and the only auto wash my Venture has endured was the pre delivery one.

Not today but it's been a busy week and a half or so for my new-to-me '17 Limited. Had Method MR316s (17x8 +25) mounted with Falken Wildpeak AT3s (275/70r18). While that was done I had a Cornfed 2/1 level kit thrown on too. I also installed some Yakima Jetstream bars w/ Timberline towers.

I managed to luck out on a used Pedal Commander (not pictured) for only $100 locally and put that in. And lastly, I installed the TrailGridPro Sony XAV-AX8100 kit. Looks like the SiriusXM tuner is missing so I'll have to take it back out when I get that sorted from them, but the install was relatively straight forward. Only downside is that my Rago Fab dash plate doesn't fit over this Metra dash trim kit, so I'm moving to a Proclip setup while resuing my Ram X-Grip.

It's come a long way in the 2 months I've owned it, and I'm excited to see where it goes (so to speak.)

Edit: Forgot to mention the tint. Had the old shitty tint removed (none on the front windows but crappy stuff with plenty of bubbles on the rear) and had Llumar Pinnacle Ceramic tint done. 30% on the front and 15% in the rear.

Looks great! With the +25 offset, how much clearance do you have to the UCA and suspension parts with those tires?

I moved the front fender up just a little bit and redrilled holes to secure it. It’s gotten rid of the rub for the most part but there’s one more piece I need to trim once I get my hands on an angle grinder. Also used a heat gun to push the middle in/forward a bit too. Right side hasn’t seen any rubbing. Honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. What doesn’t help is finding out the left wheel well liner is cracked/separated so it doesn’t hold flush very well.

I knew this thing had some bumper damage when I bought it but didn’t realize how much. They also have 2 different springs on the front. Same length but different coil counts. So that’s a project for another day.

I like that head unit and have looked into it, but here in the humid southeast (most of the year), blocking even one square millimeter of a/c vents is a no no.

Im in Texas so I get that. But it has next to no noticeable affect on airflow, and sits out far enough that it simply gets redirected.

Glad you have the rubbing problem pretty much solved. Strange it has two different springs. How much clearance do you on the inside of the tire (inside sidewall to suspension components) since the wheel has a lot of backspace pulling the wheel inward?

The Sony head unit looks great! Does the navigation still work on your speedometer? I have seen a few of these videos and I am leaning towards the Sony head unit.

Installed a 3 camera dash cam setup. One of those where the screen fits over the existing rearview mirror. I have no controls in my mirror, so nothing to cover up.

Normal view out of rearview mirror:
    cam 1.jpg
View of rear camera (always on unless I hit the button that turns the display off but still records). Totally eliminated blindspots at the expense of making things look a bit farther away than they really are:
    cam 2.jpg
Standard dash cam view that is behind the rearview mirror on the windshield:
    cam 3.jpg
Typically the third camera is used as an in-cab camera, but since I don't use my 4R as an Uber or taxi, I bought a wire extension and mounted it in the grill so I could see how close I am to objects that I'm too close to see:
    cam 4.jpg
And a view of all three:
    cam 5.jpg

So far it works just as it should. Records all three views.

Very cool! I would be interested in a link to the monitor and any general set up info. I will get a front camera at some point.
