Big day yesterday. Took a little longer with the 4 year old and 6 year old helping me out.

Did a 60,000 mile oil change
    Rotated the tires
    Greased the prop shaft
Converted my daytime running lights/high beams from 9005's to 9011's.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Took a trip from NY to visit my son in Mooresville NC then a deer hunt in Greenville NC. The 4Runner was pretty loaded the whole time with hunting stuff, things for my son and then coolers full of meat and ice on the way home. Total of 1,358 miles. Averaged 19.4 MPG not trying at all and at times doing 80 and two runs to 95 when passing morons poking along in the left lane. I'm happy with that.

Expanded my vocabulary quite a bit working on cars with Pops. Mom unimpressed.

Your kids learn any new words that Sesame Street has overlooked?

Love the toyos, got them 285/70r17 E rated. Got them put on at the same time I installed eibach pro truck lift and freedom offroad UCA and the ride feels much better now, Subjectively speaking.

Just returned from about a 4K drive through the SW. Snow, sleet, rain, wind and dust Crossed the Great Divide at least 4 times, visit archaeological sites, historical sites, great food, bad food, idiot truckers, one "trainee trucker" who drove at 15-20 mph out of Carson City for 20 miles in a snowstorm!

Just been home for about 2 hrs. Pictures and "tales of terror" to follow.

They're ALWAYS really excited to turn a wrench. I'm grateful for that. Some kids are more interested in TV or indoor stuff.

They learned some tool and car part names, although my emphasis was mostly on safety this time around.......like to never be under a car when only supported by the jack, putting the tires under the vehicle when they are off the car, ect.....

Deer committed suicide today.:annoyed:Dead-center-between-the-head-lights-hit. I was going 55 mph. No time to even hit the brake. Damage to ALF is the door edge trim on the left side of the bumper is missing, the license frame is bent and a winch bolt has gone missing. Mmmmm.... I know it was there yesterday!! ;) The Warn Winch bumper paid for itself today. The meat wasn't messed up as bad as I expected. It now resides in my freezer. Yearling doe. 'bout 95 lbs. Glad I have that bumper!!

Hmm, maybe I should change my decision on the LFD bumper because I like yours quite a bit. The metal screen on the hoop is something I have not seen before, it looks useful for brush. Deer everywhere here, basically developments going up on old farmland have displaced them.

Finished phase 2 of my deck drawers project, finally. Phase 2 cabinet now fastened to phase 1 cabinet after completing details on the 2 stage slide out table. One detail was making legs for table using some steel rod, notice in the pictures. I realized an ingenious way to stow those legs, they happen to fit perfect hah!! That metal screen is expanded aluminum. Buddy has a bunch laying around. He fabbed up the grill, then drilled and tapped the hoop. I did it to keep the rocks out.

Seems to work for deer, too.

It was easy....I bought the plate at the dealer and they have instructions. There are several videos online on how to do it. Make sure you use the right torque. It took about 1hr or so. I think it is worth it.

    Learned few things;
Point #1 is new to me.
Point #2 and #3 is already known and that why I took action on those.

    1. What parts of the 4Runner TRD Pro is added here in the USA? None except accessories installed at dealer level...
(My comment - I'm happy to hear this. I was in wrong impression.)
    upload_2021-10-25_7-44-20.jpg

2 (Camry) White paint peeling? See them all the time take is to dealership and ask what is the procedure...
(My comment - 4Runner is also in the affected list from the Service bulletin or what ever that is called)
    upload_2021-10-25_7-47-8.jpg

    3. Potential long term problems with kdss? We don't see lot of problems. Occasionally have one that is leaking.... KDSS is rare but there is a legit reason... Modifying a kdss is lot more cumbersome than a non-kdss. Buy the KDSS if you don't plan ever upgrade / update / modify your suspension. They are not very problematic. There haven't been a lot of problems lately.
(My comment - He mentioned this few time from his live videos)

"Blue Beast" ran great (Except for tire pressure sensor=been checked 3-4 times and light still stays on. Tire gauge shows correct pressure on all wheels). Ran for a week at 5K altitude or higher (up to 11K at Eisenhower Pass). Average mileage for 21K miles is 16.6 mph. Oil change yesterday and changing air filters this week. Handled great in ~5 hrs of snow storm and 2 days of light to hard rain. Bad winds from Independence to almost Hwy 14 split (closed to trucks, RVs, and travel trailers) Hwy 14 closed above Mojave due to winds.

Great food at a Basque bar in northern Nevada, fantastic breakfast enchiladas at the Rancho Hotel in Gallup and the same for fry bread at Merle's, also in Gallup. HORRIBLE stays at Reno Casino Suites in Reno=be forewarned! Several stays at Suite 6 (formerly Motel 6)=get what you pay for. Highly recommend the Rancho Hotel!!!!

Rear brakes yesterday morning. Advics pads and rotors. Went swimmingly. No issues. I vote for Advics if you want 4Runner parts for brakes.

Try setting the pressure to what you want in all five tires (I honestly don’t recall if the spare has a sensor it it). Then reset the TPMS. Usually, the trigger is a percentage difference between the set pressure and the tire pressure. It can also be triggered by the difference between two tires.

Honda uses the abs rings and if you thought Toyota was bad, the Honda isn’t displaying pressure just the speed differential.
