This one, not actual plasti dip brand. We used 5 cans on the 4 wheels and caliper paint on the emblems. Will do the same to the FJ now, youngest daughter fell in love with them.

Super simple, 10 minute job. I used the blank from the glove box and put that on the dash. I have no need for a USB port on the dash. I like my thumb drive out of sight in the glove box, keeps the dash clean and un cluttered.

Added a cargo basket to the prinsu rack. Not sure yet if I'm going to keep it on full time but could see it being useful when loading up the rack.

I have not done any serious off-roading but it looks like it clears the mud flaps fine but front liner will need a slight adjustment.

Anyone know if they make a plug for the 2020? The dash USB is smaller than the glove box slot

Took off the Sr5 badge, painted the grill bars white and added yellow fog light tint. Now we’re just waiting for the badge overlays to come in.

I ran 285’s and then 275’s on my tacoma and the transmission could never find the right gear. Drove me nuts so I kept it in 4th gear most of the time until I hit the highway. I love the larger tires but I am sticking with the stock 265’s on my 4Runner because of this. Re-gearing is too expensive. Unless you really need the larger tires for rock crawling you might consider staying with stock size. If you do go larger get some adjustable UCA’s but finding an installer that really knows how to adjust them can be difficult.

I bought a 2016 tacoma new and lifted it a week later. With 285s it was horrible, couldn’t stand it. Sold it with 3500 miles on it and bought my 2016 4Runner new and did the same but with 295s and it does just fine.

interesting, transmission on 4Runner must be different. Good to know. Maybe I will step up to 285’s next time and keep my fingers crossed that my experience is the same as yours.

It's completely different than the 3rd gen Tacoma. 2016 + tacoma has a 3.5 and 6 speed with double overdrive. It's built for max fuel economy, it's a horrible combo for a truck. The power band of the 3.5 is also far from ideal for a truck. They don't start making power until about 3500 RPM, we need low RPM torque not high RPM torque.

No you had a 5 speed auto. The 4.0 picked up something like 35 horse in maybe 2014? So there is that working for you.

Coming from years of Jeeps, am a 4Runner owner for the first time since 1992.

    Bought on Monday (17th).
    Ordered lift/wheels/tires on Tuesday (18th).
Installed lift Sat & Sun (21st/22nd) (Jeez Toytec, spend a little more time on your instructions/photos).
    Installed wheels/tires Friday (28th).
Prinsu rack scheduled to deliver Tuesday (1st).
    Alignment scheduled Thursday (3rd).
    Sliders/skids back ordered 3-8 weeks.
    Colorado/Utah bound on 09/18.

Cursory observations.........Jeep gets the nod for tucking vulnerable driveline bits up in the frame. Toyota could do better here or at a minimum offer a viable skid plate package from the factory. Otherwise........arrivederci FCA. $53k for a non Rubicon with cloth seats/base radio has brought me back to Toyota.

Took about 3 hours doing it alone. I took my time with the butyl tape. You could do it in less time.
I would suggest putting the rack together and then moving it to the roof, and when your installing the wind deflector make sure you have the screws barely scrwed into t- nuts and the deflector should slide easely into the rail. No need to use rubber mallets. Also, you don't need to cut the weatherstripping for the front legs.
That's pretty much it. It's a simple iIMG_20200830_163957626_HDR.jpg nstall once you decide how you gonna do the waterproofing.

Yes I know. The 4.0 was revamped, I forget the year but it puts out more power than it did back then. I thought it was 2014 but I may be wrong. 2016 was the first year for the 3.5 in the Tacoma and IMO it ruined it. There has been chatter about the 4R getting the 3.5 is 2022 ish. If that happens, the 4R will be ruined also. The 3.5 is a great engine, I love it in my 2019 Highlander, but it doesn't belong in a truck or SUV.

Installed Shrockworks sliders. Shrock's textured black finish is exceptional.

If I never see another stick nut in my life, it'll be too soon.

Any particular reason went with butyl tape/ptfe instead of silicone?

It has worked in RVs and boats forever and it should be easier to clean when it's time to reapply everything in couple of years. Time will tell if it's the right decision.

How do you like the final result?
I ordered mine and waiting for it... There's not much of reviews n stuff for ironman 4x4 lift kit. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Love how yours turned out. Did you go for 2.5 inches in the front?

I am no expert but from living on a farm an plugging multiple tires, i love it when they are on the vehicle. You do have to pull forward and lay on the ground to do it tho!

Alright i have spent the last three weeks starting at page 1 and just got here at page 355 looking at what everybody is modding on there runners thanks for all the info. Things i have learned are. Yall love changing some headlight bulbs, and putting a light and light switch on anything you can. And whats with the yellow fog lights? Not to many lifts over 3 in and all look good makes it a hard decision on which company to go with, rav4 mirror change out, full length roof racks cost more than my first two vehicles, combined. Thanks for all the Info guys i will see about getting picks of mine up soon.
