That sucks! I do not know what the 4Runner windshields cost, depending how you have your insurance setup, the deductible is some times close to just buying the windshield yourself.

My insurance will replace at no out of pocket cost to me.

I would have to pay if I want to insist OEM. Doubt I will though. I've had Safelite do my last few vehicles that have needed one and have been happy with the results.

Just was a little concerned on the 4Runner because of the heating element in the glass for the wiper de-icer.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I took off the roof rails and bed linered them. Happy with the results. Put butyl on the rubber gaskets and used blue Lock Tight on the bolts. I hope there's no leaks. I'm tired now but tomorrow I'll give it a wash and look to see if roof liner is wet any place.DSCN5537.jpg DSCN5538.jpg DSCN5539.jpg

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Between yesterday and this morning, I did what I could to reshape my Antics footwell fuse box cover for 2020. It had fallen out while on the street yesterday. I used a couple old Neo Geo MVS video game cartridges, a hifi ferrite core clip on thingy, a couple jars of salsa, a hair dryer, my fingers, and my brain. I was able to get the 3D printed style bend mostly out of the unit with weight and gravity and reshape some of the plastic with my fingers after getting it really hot so the clips will ideally hold better. I put the cover on this afternoon, and it went on easier this time than it ever did when I first got it new. I'm hoping that means it'll remain in good working order this time.

I let the paint dry for about an hour before installing the rails and they slid right on with no problem and no scratching either.

Replaced the already corroding original rear license plate screws with titanium ones (used a tiny bit of anti-sieze).
I have about 3500 miles on this vehicle and couldn't believe how bad the OEM ones looked already.

Which is weird because the Baja SAE fog lights are actually dimmer than stock halogen fogs.

H9 bulbs are a great replacement for factory H11 low beams. Nearly double the output with factory-correct optics. In case you're interested.

Sweet light chart, thanks! Thats interesting, for some reasons the BD SAE ambers seems brighter to me...maybe because its more yellow giving it a paint brush effect?

I'm thinking about changing to H9 for low beams, but heard their lifespans aren't that good. What have been your experience?
H9 halogen or LED, which has a better throw pattern?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes the BD fogs have more spilled light outside the main pattern, they are right at the threshold for allowable glare.

LED bulbs in halogen housings will nearly always come up shorter than stock. There are excellent threads on Tacomaworld by a resident lighting engineer there:

Trimmed my fenders in anticipation of installing the new 285/70R17 Cooper Evolution MTs in a month or so. They might work. I was surprised at how little room there is at full lock with the factory size tire installed even with a 2.5" front spacer lift...

As somebody in the insurance industry, I can confirm (even worked for State Farm for a few years). Geico may be cheap, but good luck actually getting a consistent person, building a relationship with an agent, having your agent go to bat for you on things that shouldn't affect your rates or insurability.

Are the fog lamps street legal? Are you getting flashed for them being too bright?

No I've never got flashed. They are the street legal SAE version, very distinct cut off.
