That's definitely a practical way to go. It'll still look pretty good with the armor. There's always a little trial and error waiting for the suspension to settle while adding weight to your rig. The hardest part is waiting for parts to arrive. Although, finding projects for the rig while waiting for bumpers is easy.

Finally installed my TRD skid plate today. Got a little help from my apprentice, my 13 year old son. I know that some are not fans of the big red letters, but I love them.:kona:skid install 6.jpg skid install 3.jpg Skid install 2.jpg Skid install 1.jpg skid install Ethan.jpg

Couple updates. First is removing the "Super Bright blah blah LED 921 reverse bulbs" that are covered in random LED emitters. Replaced them with Gy6.35 halogen bulbs as described in this thread here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/gy6-35-hir-921-reverse-light-upgrade-vs-high-power-leds.474996/

I'm finding out more and more that mashing LED blister packs into halogen housings is not the best idea. Halogen upgrade on the left, LED garbage on the right, the results speak for themselves:

Next up is a pet barrier upgrade. The Raingler nets work great if you have laid back dogs, but one of ours is so persistent that she finds a way to wiggle around it every time. I bought the Bullet Proof Fabrication pet barrier (still on sale?) and it works phenomenally. It is also easy to add gear to. I attached a soft first aid kit in the dead space next to the headrest (front of the panel).

Just got the Rigid 360 6 inch lights that I am going to be mounting on the a-pillar with the SDHQ ditch brackets (very beefy).

Is there a reason that Eibach says that their rear spring can only be used with their rear shock?

Shouldn't be at all. Short height lifted springs can be used with stock shocks, but it's just not as ideal as longer ones.

Thanks Crikeymike! This is what I was looking at, it’s says 1” lift. I’m not sure what shock I’d use with it, probably a 2.5 IFP without an external reservoir.

You can search for them on Amazon or get them directly from Bulb America, that's where I got mine.

Also will put up my Raingler net for sale if you are interested in trying one out for cheaper than new.

Are those Plug & Play now? I thought the first version involved some wiring.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Used it to go get a starter for my 1948 Willys with a transplanted 4 cyl. from a 1977 Pontiac with a Chevy bell housing and flywheel. It was hard to track down one that would fit but finally success!DSCN5487.jpg

I'm due in another 1,000. This will be my first one on a 5th gen. Had the dealer do the first two.

Starting to collect all my materials now. Just got a filter, oil, and have the filter housing wrench on the way.

Weathertech front mat set (which are already muddy) and installed the iPhone holder setup. Found a place for the tow strap & shackles & the pump bottle of home-brew hand sanitizer to live. If things got really bad, I figure we could drink it. it's about 160 proof. Now figuring out where to stash the jumper cables and tool roll. Not many storage nitches and lockers on the Runner. Posted the OEM wheels & tires on Craigslist.
    It's a start.

Ordered a set of Toyo AT II tires from Discount Tire, should be getting them installed on the OEM wheels Monday.
Discount Tire gave me a nice trade-in $$ on the gawd-awful Grandtrek AT20s my 4Runner came with - good riddance.
Been running Michelin winter tires on aftermarket wheels since November but now it's time to swap out the winters.

Trade in? Were they brand new or did they have any miles at all? That's the first time I have heard of DT taking trade in tires? I have 2800 miles on my Bridgestone Duelers that it came with. Did I miss the window?

Talk to your local DT shop. I heard that they did trade-in deals on the interwebz, so I called them up and asked. They wouldn't commit to anything before seeing the tires, so YMMV.
