I noticed that too. Can’t be much cheaper than the typical steel spare wheel and full size tire.

what's messed up is how egregious the passive aggressive shaming tactic Toyota is employing here. The price on that SR5 was only 2k less than a well equipped 5th gen ORP for 24. Yet on the 5th gens the buttons are in several batches so even SR5s don't call attention to the lack of options paid for. Here it's just "BAM! so many blank spots".

case in point: from a glance an SR5 left side dash doesn't look all that different from a Limited or Pro.

This is much more ergonomic dashboard than a Gen6 with the cheap 1980s plastic and the attached tablet.

Man y'all need to move on from the damn "man purse"! Shhhhh! :annoyed:

Anyways, OP congrats, don't get worked up about all the comments.

TFL sucks and I can't believe they paid so much for their OR. The only two trims I think are ok in price are the SR5 and Limited as they didn't go up astronomically. But Toyota is greedy af for pricing the OR/ORP that high!

NGL, I am starting to like the Limited. When I bought my 23 ORP I saw brand new Limiteds that cost the same as the new 6th gen Limiteds... and by the looks of it the Limiteds is the best looking one.

$72k..... I almost shat myself until I realized with great relief that the price includes ceramic coating and dent protection.

What the hell is going on in this thread? Everyone is fixating on the owners of 6th gens instead of the vehicles, this forum is not going to grow a meaningful 6th gen userbase if we get judgmental about the owners. Don't gatekeep either, it is possible to criticize Toyota for removing things like a full size spare without insulting the people that like it.

They finally answered a question no review did, the skid plate on the SR5. It looks plastic to me which is a huge downgrade, Toyota has been doing that on the Sequoia and the Tacoma, and I really wish they didn't make that compromise. The blank switches are not a big deal, it gives you a place to put switches for mods. The 3rd gen has only 3 or 4 in logical areas, and typically 2 of them are already used from factory. Having a ton of blanks means you don't have to buy a switch panel if you want to fit more that 4 circuits. It might not look the best, but it's function over form.

For TFL it's a business decision, getting the 6th gen first means they can start making content with it first, which means they get more views, which means they make more money. The math doesn't make sense for a normal buyer, but TFL isn't a normal buyer.

i think they started with the hard felt skid plate idea with the 22 tundra and it just carried over to every bof vehicle since then

all those blanks are for the higher trims which include a bank of blank switches connected to nothing, they are for the consumer to connect to whatever.

there is a pic somewhere of those blanks switches included.... here is a pic of a 2024 tacoma

The only more annoying design trend I could think of is 90s plastic panels on the bottoms of doors.

If you going to attach a giant tablet in the middle of the dash, at least give me an option to remove or fold it out of sight.

Then I would tell the dealer to remove the precious and expensive accessories because I would just ruin them on the hunting trails.
