This is so interesting to me. And an example of the subjectivity in ride "quality"... I've recently been in a Camry, maxima, Tesla, and Outback, and every time I get back into my 4Runner I think AHHHHH, it rides so much better than the sedans! So much more comfortable going down the road and I don't feel every crack in the road. The 4Runner is floaty, and rides like an old Cadillac compared to the others.

It's amusing watching people in late model Camrys bragging about its ride. I've own Camrys going back to XV10 days and the new ones are at best meh with their "sports" tires and tuning, XV30 was the last one I would consider okay and even then just barely. The peak I think was the 1997-1999 CE and LE models with the 15 inch wheels and really tall sidewalls.

That was my first time in a Tesla. I shut the door and it felt like a soda can. Started driving it and... the rattles lol.

It’s great if all you want to bring with you is one change of clothes and your toothbrush. I thought you were getting an suv that had more storage space than the 4Runner?

For me, a road trip in my 4R would consist of getting out of it every 2-3 hours. Whether it's for gas, food, pee break or to just simply get out and stretch. At the end of this month, I'm taking a drive down to SLC to the Off-Road Expo.
8 hours, 500+ miles. But my estimated time will be closer to 10-12 hours for said reasons above. It'll be like old times, except I'm not dragging a cargo trailer.

My wife recently got one. The one thing I don't like about it is how the windows open themselves a bit when opening and closing the doors. I think the lack of air pressure on closing contributes to that feel (well, that and the cheap construction :) ). No rattles so far though and it's pretty fun to feel the torque.

I really don't understand anyone who says the 4R rides like shit. I've owned a ton of vehicles, from entry level sedans to 100k sedans and trucks - and my 24 PRO is well above the middle of the pack, probably at the top if we add in build quality and rattles going over certain roads. Even my Raptor with factory adjustable Fox suspension - over certain bumps the 4R rides better and certainly rattles less going over them. I think the only vehicle I will say 100% wins over my PRO was my S6 with factory air ride, but only up to a certain point. Handling, sure, the A4, S6, and C63 blow it away, but they should.

I don’t understand anyone who says fuck you to everyone on a forum that they’ve never even met. I can see directing that to a specific poster with whom they had conflict, but not everyone. “Some people’s only purpose in life is to set a bad example for the rest of us not to follow.” Bobby Knight

It’s a day later and I’m still laughing about him trading a 4Runner for a Camry. :D I thought he was going to buy a big roomy SUV like a Tahoe or Sequoia. Then he goes and buys a small sedan.

I’m very happy with my caliraised sliders. My kid uses them as steps even though these are the trail edition, which are the narrow ones.

Another vote for RCI with the top plate, my wife didn't complain at all. Works great if you put your foot parallel to the door opening and step in.

    I dunno
My favorite part was him insulting the forum in the sales pitch

“like, I KNOOOW some fanboy is gonna buy this from me…”

    side note:
    ….we’re all 100% fanboys

edit:I think he mentioned selling to “dealer” but I’m feeling a distant cousin twice removed who refers to @64mech as “awh shiot, not him”

My bet is the guy never even owned a 4Runner, and just here to troll. I can't imagine anyone with above room temperature IQ would look at a 4R and proceed to buy it with real money and expect a sedan ride.
