That is why I have shifted my focus on the LX570. Essentially the same vehicle but with fancier drapes and with very little demand in the used market.

Nah. A lot of people junked them during cash for clunkers and others just wanted something more updated. I kept mine until 2014 when I got my Tacoma. The only people I see with them now are high school kids and people who off-road them.

I remember up until 2009 or so they were everywhere on the used market and nobody wanted them. Suddenly a few years later everyone wanted one to do a SFA build.

This was actually an incorrect statement. I could get two new 4runners for the price of a new LC and a used LC with 150k+ was the cost of a new 4runner.

Bottom line is they are ridiculously expensive compared to a 4runner. And I agree, the market for the LX is better than the LC because nobody wants them

At the end of the run of the 200 Series LC in the US I remember they were available in my area for about 80k and several sat on the lot for almost a year. Expensive yes but not so crazy compared to the 60k people were paying for TRD Pro 4R at the time.

But regular price of non-marked up 4Runners wise you are correct, that's how we eneded up buying our two last year.

I just asked Alexa to define the word "sad" and she said...."When a 5th gen owner with buyer's remorse becomes obsessed with modernized, more powerful 6th gen and to tries to hide his obsession and feels the need to attempt to make a counterpoint to every positive point made about the 6th gen and tries to say insightful and clever things but comes up short each time."

See, Alexa really does know everything.

Alexa must have different answers for different regions or people with different occupations. When I asked her the same question she said “When a company and stockholders lose millions of dollars and market share that had a stronghold for many years after implementing too much change too rapidly while facing too many unnecessary regulations”.

The 4Runner hasn't changed much in 14 years but you still think it's too soon?

That's a weird way to say you had way too much money stuck in a stock that consistently underperformed the SP500.

Some people are so far behind they think they are ahead.

Nope, not at all. Bought 1000 shares in December 2023 and sold them about six months later. Made about $44k on those two transactions. Wish I had held them a few more weeks.

    Buy low, sell high.

The transactions were in my IRA. But yes, I will be doing my taxes on withdrawals for the year.

Just all in fun. I think Toyota has changed too many vehicles in their line up at one time. Seems like a lot of issues with these new launches lately and hopefully they get the bugs worked out for the new 4Runner. I just think slow and steady wins the race. Merry Christmas
