...^^^... Do forget to add an additional $20,000 USD (to the MSRP) for the "SET Cartel" if you live in the SouthEast ... :spending:

Great! Their sales to dealers are handily beating 2009 and 2010 when there was absolutely nothing going on in the financial world, and a whopping 10% higher than the previous gen on its 15th year. Great success!

Boy those incentives sure are working...or maybe not if they are still on the lot....

Look at the bright side, whatever they don't sell they can always move into rental fleets.

I am amused at how many 22-24 ex-rentals are for sale now a days seeing how that was when Toyota was throttling units available for retail customers last few years. Toyota was playing some 5D chess there...somehow I am sure.

Incentives near end of the year to make room for 2025s, it's almost as if things are back to normal isn't it?

By the way, the Tundra's average days supply is still a fraction of the Big Three's.

Despite reputational damage from the engine recall, the Tundra is having its best year of sales vs. almost the entirety of the 2nd gen, and 2024 isn't finished yet. Why do you think that is?

And it's always been counted the same way with 2nd gen Tundras.

Only 2nd year into a brand new design after 21 years and they already need sizeable incentives to clear out stock at the end of the year to match sales level of the early 2010s, and dealer lots are still full of them?

Okay, you convinced me, great success. I shouldn't judge the situation with the rows of Tundras at my local dealerships with 3-5k discount in big letters on their windshields. It's a rare species of victory.

^Your complaint now is that the 3rd gen Tundra hasn't outsold 2nd gen by a greater extent?

Year-end sales like Toyotathon and Red Tag days. It's almost like things are back to normal right? Remember how normal people shopped for vehicles before covid? They compared 3-4 dealers and picked the lower priced truck on the lot that came closest to what they wanted.

You're a classic internet troll. You hate the 6th gen but you can't stay off this thread to save your life. Who are you trying to convince, other than yourself? Get a life Bro, go to the 5th gen thread, stay there and rally everyone there. Tell each other how happy you are with the antiquated, slower, less HP, less torque, less tow capacity 5th gen. I won't use those trigger words on a 5th gen thread, don't want to upset any of those people staying there on those threads. Just you trolls. LOL.

relax. maybe call your local Toyota dealer and assure them that the Tundra is selling just fine and they shouldn't believe their lying eyes.

    LOL.

Tundra's previous high was just shy of 200k in 2007.

But sure, if it makes you feel better, the Tundra has never done better and all those units on lots are all paid for ones waiting for customers to pick up.

Toyota's configurator is (kind of? for me) online.

    https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/4runner/

Estimate is 20/22/24-26 MPG city/combined/highway for the gas 2WD model, which (along with the below estimates) is a neat plus if it pans out.

Toggling 4WD gives me 19/21/25 MPG.

    23/23/24 MPG for the hybrid.

From a quick skim of the SR5 feature list, what stands out to me is... (remember this is only the base model, and this is only what was stated on the spec list)

    Added:
    - Auto headlights (not just auto high beams)
    - Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with all those bells and whistles like lane-tracing plus other assists like... Traffic Jam Assist?
    - Projected path in rear camera view
    - Drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Tow/Haul)
    - Extra 1k# towing capacity (to 6k#)

    Removed:
    - It doesn't call out having skid plates on there?
    - Power driver's seat (OK I called this one)
    - 400W AC Inverter
    - Auto-dimming rearview mirror

    Stayed the same:
    - It says no "Stop and start engine system" across the board (although no way the hybrid doesn't have something like that)
    - Leather steering wheel
    - Auto power windows all around (I was wrong about this guess)
    - Manual HVAC controls
    - 17" wheels, 265/70R17
    - LED taillights
    - Manual tailgate (but a power one on upper trims now)

    YMMV:
    - Electric power steering
    - Electric parking brake
    - 19 gallon fuel tank (-4 gallons)
    - 78" wide (+2.2")
    - a turning circle "diameter" of just under 20 feet, is that possible?

I don't have a horse in the race. Just wanted to do a reality check against the echo chamber prevalent here. Some people can't deal with the fact that somehow an uglier, less reliable Toyota truck is outselling the previous one for 15 years. Could it be that buyers are looking for newer technology and improved fuel economy?

It’s not outselling. You’re looking at the numbers of vehicles sold from Toyota to the dealers. The dealer lots are filled with tundras either waiting to be sold or waiting for an engine replacement.

^My local dealer has a single 2024 Tundra in inventory, hybrid Platinum listed at MSRP with no discounts. The dealer also has a four 2025 Tundra Limited gassers and one 2025 TRD Pro in inventory, all listed at MSRP with no discounts. This is based on the dealer's website. Usually they have no more than one on the lot, with the rest stored off-site. Last time I was there buying TuRD centercaps for my 4Runner (cheaper than eBay!) they had one Land Cruiser and one Taco Trailhunter in the showroom both placarded as "sold".

A not particularly big dealer up the road from me has 11 Tundras, all have 2-7k in discounts listed including 2025s.

    https://www.concordtoyota.com/new-inventory/index.htm?model=Tundra&model=Tundra i-FORCE MAX

They also have 39 Tacos and all but the trail hunter have discounts listed.

Another one near me has 78 Tacos and 29 Tundras, most on lot and some in transit.

    https://www.dublintoyota.com/searchnew.aspx

Maybe your dealer is not one that Toyota gives allocations to.

Two weeks ago, I was at a volume dealer 60 minutes away from me with a friend who is looking for a Rav4. The lines of Tundras and Tacos there were...breathtaking.

Amazingly all the hot hot hot 25 Tundras all had 3k to 5k discounts on prominently displayed. How odd.

Yes it appears to only come on Platinum.

Nor do I see it as an add-on option for other models. But I did see on a website that said it could be added on a 'luxury item'. But not sure what package is.

That’s what I thought and saw too. It’s a shame I can’t get everything I want on either a new Tacoma or 4R. No green Tacomas right now, maybe 25 will offer one.

The TH and Pro Tacoma have the heads up display. TH, both models, don’t have a moon roof.

The OR premium 4R is probably the closest to everything I want. Green/everest, moonroof, rear window that goes down but no high air intake as an option or HUD. Good thing I don’t really need anything new, I just like the new and “shiny”

Saving up more (down payment) could put me in more debt with a GX550 in a green too…

I saw on the 4R full press release pdf that only the platinum has the hud. Not listed as an option for any other trims

You really do need to get another hobby. I know, go stare at your outdated, slower, antiquated, less technology, less HP, less torque, less towing capacity 5th gen that looks the same as a 2010 model and continue to tell yourself you are happy with that....or you can stay here and play the charade you've been playing by trying to convince yourself you are not in love with the new, modernized, faster, stronger, more powerful, more capable 6th gen. I know on my 5th Gen, the navigation looked like a 3rd grader was sketching out my route as I was driving. Useless. I hope that is better on you 2023 antiquated model. Now stop trolling, so I can stop too. LOL
