At the dealership getting major service schedule work done. Sat in the new LC, flipped the rear seats and flexed the small cargo lids...nope, don't like the flip up rear glass. I did find the little 'cooler' switch under the center console armrest intriguing.

    Stock so far…..
Today we are taking the stock Terra Grapplers and moving them to our son's 2-door Wrangler JK. He has some low-kilometre LT265/70 "E" K02s, but doesn't go off-road nearly as much as my wife does.
She brought the Runner to our cabin last week and really thought the "road" was too sketchy for P-tires.
Son will appreciate the improvements in fuel consumption and quieter ride; we get a bit more confidence in the bush. Win-win.

what wheel size are the K02s? 17 like the 4runner? If that's the case that's an interesting size. Same width as OEM with more sidewall. I like it. Do you have the pro suspensions? Any rubbing?

Just got some Llumar IRX 15% on the back window and the moon roof. Any darker and it would hamper back visibility at night. Have 5% on the rear sides and 25% front side windows.
I like being in compliance. They are supposed to be the best but this Texas heat is unrelenting.

Not too bad. The bumber cover has to be removed. I found it is easier to remove the headlights as well to access the wiring on the turn signals. I had to add wire to the passenger side wire as it wasn’t long enough. I recommend you watch the install video on 4runnerlifestyle, as it does help.It took me a couple hours, but it is a new vehicle and I didn’t want to damage anything. The result is worth the effort imho.

Yessir, I did watch the video earlier today. I'm not totally scared of taking the nose off, though I'll admit to being a little apprehensive about it. I was curious, too, if you'd found a less "intrusive" way to do the job.

Are you pleased with the components? I've been staring at those online for a good while.

    get the windshield tinted too...

I got my windshield tinted and can tell a lot of difference...
I drive east in the AM and west in the PM...
With the tinted windshield, the truck gets cold enough to actually turn the A/C down

I had a 4runner service loan car for 4 days without windshield tint, and truck needed full A/C all the way home and never got COLD

I am pleased with the components and no, I didn’t find a better way to do the task. I tried to complete it without removing the nose and it was a pita. It’s worth taking the time to take the nose off and to remove the headlights. Just my 2 cents.

    Hey guys
I installed 4RLifestyle fang fogs too.
Def have to take the bumper cover off, imo.
But, I din take the headlights out, but I agree that would have made t-tapping to the wire easier, that was a bitch cuz it’s tight.
I’ve now taken both my bumper covers off multiple times for mods and rust proofing.
It’s great experience and you learn a lot, after you get past the nerves. If I had a ‘24 the nerves would be much higher tho. Luckily for me my 2016 has no sensors and the bumpers can come off without any calibrations.

How much is $330 USD in CAD
Kidding aside, you’re not wrong, getting them to deal with it has it benefits.
But, the techs at the dealership are shocking, they might f ur sht up.

I put some "off brand" fangs on from Amazon on. Take the bumper off was nerve wrecking. But having said that, after I put it all back on, the driver side doesn't sit completely flush anymore. I'm guessing a clip got broke.

    It’s that right eh.
That is a possible outcome, yes sir. I do have a little bit of that issue from repeated take offs. But it’s mostly because I drove through a forest of prickle bushes and small trees to create a new path at my brother in laws backyard  O’Canada!!

Ouch! I know it's only a matter of time before I find the brush that does the same to me, but I hope to avoid it for as long as I can.

I wanted to. And I know how much of a difference the windshield makes. My dash is practically melting with the heat.
I did my homework and wanted to get the Llumar AIR80 done on the entire windshield. But potential trouble with the cops deterred me. I did get the 5 inch 'brow' to help me with the morning glare driving east in the morning.

What trouble with being in compliance? I am in TX and it's legal as long as not dark. Makes a huge difference for me. I notice the heat soak on dash or sun hitting me driving into sun. Honestly can't tell it's tinted looking at it. I stopped going dark a long time ago because of night visibility.

It is not legal and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The law states a clear ( un tinted) film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without medical exemption. Llumar AIR80 is not a clear tint. It is a very light tint but still not a clear tint.
The cops will not stop you for just having that tint because it's hardly noticable with naked eye but easily detected with a light meter. However, if you are stopped for something else, the windshield film is an added offence. Only above AS1 line 25% LTV same as front 2 windows is allowed.
People do get it done all the time though and it makes a huge difference.

I cringe when I see the dudes with epic pinstriping, much worse than my damage. But like magic, they tend to use scratch wizardry and fix it! don’t think that works on headlights tho ;)

Isn't the tint checked with light meter for state inspection? Mine has never been questioned. I would think the tint shops would risk fines doing it if not legal.

Any LEO out there that can offer expert advice?

Laws vary state by state, location by location. You should be able to search your local ordinances to see what the restrictions are. The fact that a lot of people have tint is not an indicator of legality. A lot of people have dark tint in my city, but it is not legal. So why don't people get pulled over? They do. It is sufficient reason for a legal stop by itself but seldom is it strictly enforced. I will tell you that if you have tinted windows, broken tail light, etc - your odds of getting pulled over are increased, and really increased if you happen to drive around at 2:00am because it will give an officer a legitimate reason for a stop when there otherwise might not be one.

So I have a bit of a quandary. This button used to be red in color and now it's not lighting up. At all. Do these button "burn out" for staying lit all the time?

My light bar still comes on. Wires all look good inside the dash. I'm just curious if it gives up it optical ghost.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
How long has it been installed? I know that LED's do last a long time, but not forever. I had a similar button in my Tacoma, but it only illuminated when I pressed it to turn the bumper light on. The shop that hooked it up offered to have it light up all the time, and I'm glad I didn't, because it was VERY bright when pressed.

The LED is probably just burnt out. It still lights up the light bar when pressed, right?

If it still comes on I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe check the Amazon reviews and see if anyone else has had the same problem? You could also buy a new button for whatever they're selling for ($20?) and swap it out? That way you'd get you wanted.
