What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Looks quick to mount and safe from theft or vandalism.

Any issue with the heat being generated from the sun coming through the glass and/ or the reflected heat being trapped by the glass?

 

Not yet, but we'll see in the heat of summer. There is some airspace around it, and you could also open the sunroof on a hot day! It is pretty stealthy too. I have the router mounted on my molle panels in the back.

Hey @EatSleepTacos - how did you secure all the extra wires, the DRL box, etc.? I found a set someone had not installed, but I can't see a way to secure all that.

 

I did not know that. Yes, the lugs came marked from Toyota.

Cool thing, the tires are made in 2023 in Japan. My ride is 100% Japanese made!

Based on your profile looks like its a Pro. Sadly Pro's get lot of parts added in the USA. They are not 100% from Tahara factory Japan.

Here's how TRD Pro lands in USA. Then the TRD Pro stuff gets installed right here in the USA.

 

When dealer installs accessories, they are not required to update that to final assembly in USA.

I checked fluid levels, changed the oil, and installed a Valvomax oil drain plug. More stuff coming tomorrow.

 

I installed the Valvomax my last oil change. I think I'll like having it.

I haven't drained with it yet. From what I've heard, none of these valves drain particularly fast.
