I now have about 1600 miles on my Baja Boss ATs and really like them. They’ve been great in 6” of snow, slushy roads, rain soaked roads and mud.

Thanks again to the OP for an excellent review and comparisons to other ATs he’s run.

Just got a 2018 TRD Pro, loving it so far. Need some new shoes. The owner who had prior had it parked for a while and the tires unfortunately have some flat spots and now I have crazy shimmy after 70 mph. Was looking at the Mickey Thompsons as I have never been a fan of the Falkens it currently has. Thoughts on getting the Baja Boss AT 265/70/17 Load E vs Load C versions? I don't do any serious offroading, just camping, lots of snow trips and the occasional rocky/dirt roads. Thanks for the help!

My wife’s girl friend is buying my 265 standard load Mickeythompsons and my wheels for her 4runner and I’m jumping to 285 stand load with my SCS wheels after I get it lifted with the westcott,

I’m running the 285 (SL’s). Absolutely love them. IMO they are superior to both KO’2 and Falken AT3’s…(ran them both on my prior Tacoma)

Nice!! Just stopped by today at my tire shop and the owner I know ordered me in the SL 285’s. Need to get the westcott lift in first. I agree they are superior to the tires you mentioned. Already got to test them in the snow. Love them and no road noise. I believe the tire wear is going to last very long.

What does that do to your mpg? 26psi seems low. Now I do not have these tires. But when I was running a cooper 285 70 17, 34psi was the sweet spot.(mpg and tire wear).

I was at 35 on a 40 degree day fill up and they over expand and crown. So starting lower around 28-30. Does your tire pressure light stay on at 26? If not, how can I keep my light off below 28psi?

    I tried 6 or 7 different psi’s and settled on 34psi.

Only have 1,500 miles on them so far but love the new skins!

    Hey @smatson
I have very similar tires, the generation before the Baja Boss; Baja ATZ load E LT285's
Some sites say 55lb ea, once site said 59lbs
Any idea how much Baja Boss weigh? 100% I'm buying back to back MT's next tire.

Thanks for providing your psi findings throughout the weeks. Very helpful.

I actually went up from 36 to 38 lil while ago as I test during the winter months.
I'm over 30,000kms, 2-1/2 years, thread wear is impressive treads are still deep

20240206_180355.jpgI just had this done today. Leveling lift with Rough Country kit. 2 inch front and 1 inch back. Stayed with the stock size tire MT Baja Boss XL265/70/17. I love the way they look. Will see how the driving goes. Great thread.

I’ve only got about 600mi on them, but wear is fine…. Mpg is @ 16.7. Ride is smooth.

After all the forum scrolling, you all have me leaning towards the MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA BOSS A/T SL 285 70 17.

We bought our 2021 4runner a year ago. It came with Nitto Ridge Graplers in 285 70 17. Unfortunatly they had very uneven wear due to bad alignment and the inside fronts are balding. Also cracking really bad from sun damage. My only complaint with them is they are a bit loud, but then again I have nothing to compare them to.

For making a short highway commute 4 days a week and frequent hunting, fishing and camping trips, am I on the right track? Will these be quieter than the nitto ridge grapplers? How do they compare in wet conditions? Im not so worried about mud, as most of our roads are rocky. Snow is not a huge concern either as I only encounter it rarely. Any other tires I should be considering?

Is Discount tire the best place to order and install? I am in Chandler, AZ.

    Thanks everyone

Did a test fit yesterday on wife’s girlfriend white 4runner with my FN wheels and my Mickeythompsons tires. What a difference in the look. Also no rubbing at full lock or anywhere. She is excited to get them on her 4runner. It won’t happen till I get my westcott on and 285’s this month.

Those look great! I saw on Tacoma world they mentioned that the SLs have a much less aggressive sidewall than the LT's, but in your photos they still look pretty aggressive.

Wow that’s all I have to say. I went from the Mickey Thompson 265’s drove on them about 2500 miles and now jumped up to the 285’s standard load. My Pro does not even feel a difference in power. Does not even feel like I jumped to 285’s like it did with my Nitto’s 10 ply when I had my 20 AG Pro. Love the look. Did the double swap today I know you guys will love this. Lol. My wife’s girlfriend got my FN wheel and my 265’s. She loves how her 4runner drives and feels and especially the look. IMG_4910.jpg
