^Why do you need a jack or jack stands for an oil change? To rotate tires, sure, but a jack isn't necessary for oil. There's enough ground clearance.

Ah yes... I was rotating the tires at the same time. (Not to mention it was an excuse to buy all that stuff. :) )

Which terrorist country are you supporting with $90 oil? :stirthepot:

    Here's a 5L jug of 0W20 full-synthetic for $19. Buy two jugs for $38: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Te...38905?fulfillmentIntent=In-store&athbdg=L1102

Good to know . Just removed that one & added the OEM. It doesn't look like it comes W/Drain plug, I guess you use the one from the plastic original bowl?
    Thank you!!!

I'm not big only 5' 5" and 150 and I'm going to say there is not enough room to change oil comfortably.

    Unless you are lifted.

I don't even change the filter drain O ring. The drain doesn't even work great and just adds time. I just remove the whole housing and call it a day.

I'm 6'0" and change the oil without jacking up the vehicle. I have stock suspension still. :notsure:

You don't need to get your belly under the oil pan. Just need to get close enough to get eyes on the drain plug to verify it isn't leaking after the job. Likewise you don't want to be directly under the filter cap when you remove it.

The metal one on Amazon looks like the drain plug isn't included & re-use the OEM drain plug.

Isn't the OEM plug in the plastic one metal. I just checked my old plastic OEM from the my 2018 & it is metal that I can use W/Toyota one I'll order. Thanks again for heads up on leaking. The OEM 1 is actually less expensive but I'm sure I'll have swap the stand pipe.

    Please read again.

    COMFORTABLY

Every able bodied person should own a jack and stands. If not don't forget your murse when you go out.

I also sometimes I use the disposable box to catch the oil since I always forget to take my oil container. The box doesnt fit with the flaps up without it jacked up.

I do own floor Jack & Jack stands. I only use them when I rotate the tires.

I have a great local shop that charges $30 for an oil change. I bring my oil and filter.
Takes 30 mins, and while we wait for oil to drain completely we have a conversation. He does not speak a word of English and my Spanish is questionable. We both weirdly nod our heads.

75-90 is the going rate for any local shop that changes oil around here.

Talking about able-bodied when you can't get any work done without jacking up a 4Runner? I got a 3.5-ton hydraulic jack, 3-ton uni-jack, two 6-ton jack stands, and four 3-ton jack stands, but why use them when you don't have to? Jacking up the vehicle doubles the time it takes to do an oil change. Hell, I changed the fluids in both diffs, transfer case, and transmission with tires on the ground. Turn wrenches long enough and you learn to be efficient with your time.
Nope. Once a year is good enough. If your tires are wearing abnormally, get the root cause addressed rather than trying to "even out the wear" by tire rotation.

Ramps are much less trouble than a jack and jack stands. Drive up, change oil, drive off. Makes moving around under there so much easier.

It takes more time for the oil to drain than to slide a piece of cardboard along with my fat ass under the truck to remove the skid and plug plate. Why waste time jacking shit up? Thats just way more work and time for nothing.

I see your ramps and jack stands and raise you my storm shelter. It's great having an oil change pit in the garage.
