Rusted OEM parts on 2019 4Runner or replacement parts?

Or perhaps scenario "C", actually believes someone replaced everything below the body with someone else's rusty parts?

Bizarre, but maybe the most entertaining if it is actually pursued.

True, or possible, that's left to be seen lol

 

Lets consider what it would require to pull it off:
1. Having the old replacement parts on hand to swap in
2. A bunch of complacent employees who wont squeal on you
3. A fence to sell the slightly newer used parts to, and they'd have to pay more than the cost of the labor and parts you swapped in at least.

The risk is losing your shop, getting arrested, and losing your livelihood. The cost of shipping the old parts that you'll swap in will cost money, the cost of doing the deed will cost time and money, and then you have to find the perfect buyer whose willing to pay enough money to make it worth your while. Meanwhile your taking a huge risk.

The risk vs reward is terrible

Guys, I spent 20 days in the hospital for appendix removal surgery and they swapped out my skeleton with some old arthritic bones but left my young cartilage and tendons in place. How’s that sound?

What if the dash with the VIN plate got swapped between two vehicles.. Could that be a viable option to this wild scenario?

 

There is no way a shop took effort to swap in perfectly usable but surface rusted parts, including the frame, for yours that you assume were pristine before the repair lol. The rust level is consistent throughout, no chance you convince anyone of this unless the frame number looks tampered with.

If a shop pulled off such a conspiracy level operation, it would literally cost them more money than what they’d make on having some slightly nicer used parts to sell in place of the ones they swapped in.

It’s not pretty but I’ve actually seen worse. Need to invest in some oil based undercoating going forward to stop the rust cancer from spreading.

I have since found a few new things never seen on my T4R?
There is an old sticker on my windshield never had before on drivers side.
Maybe you can make it out has Toyota car and something else it’s real faded and looks like someone tried to take it off.
Not my sticker!
Now the windshield is cracked from top my roof on the connection point of frame of car.

No big deal but I have before and after pictures windshield doesn’t matchup to all letters on this windshield with old sticker?

I do have before and after pictures of this sticker not being there by the way!

Next on all 4 door jams I never noticed there are now orange stickers with NSD tracking numbers for Law Enforcement to track my T4R?
Maybe you can tell me if this is on all 2019 T4R Maybe never noticed until now?
I tried calling the number on sticker NSD is In Florida. No answer? FYI looks like a aftermarket company will be contacting dealerships to find out if NSD is a tracking company they use on T4R 2019?

Next stopped by a car inspector and they inspect certain check off list of mechanical for people buying used cars.
Inspector does not specialize on the undercarriage, that I need to address.
Maybe, you can advise what type of inspection or place I can go to to do this type of inspection?

I did contact Toyota Support to get my engine number on block and am relieved to know
It is my engine went by a T dealer and he was able to provide on the ground the correct number on my block.

Lastly on drivers door jam the Vin sticker has been tampered with looks like someone tried to scrape it off with no luck!

Well I’m contacting back Toyota support as the guy at dealership said something about inside body of doors has ID numbers to matchup and I will see what other parts to my body frame can help to identify if this T4R is all mine or just parts placed back on to help possibly shop guy who by the way is from Florida…

May have to go to a new body shop get it throughly inspected.
I hope I’m wrong.. but I’m still paying for this beast and it better be my T4R rust and all!

ok I totally believe you now. The last photo of your dash and windshield did it for me. They also swapped your dash out with something from a completely different vehicle. Maybe a Honda???!!!

Not only that but that vehicle in the last pic is most likely a 2023 model year. Texas only issues a 2 year sticker for brand new vehicles when the are registered and titled. With an expiration of 3/25, that vehicle in the picture was purchased as a new vehicle in March of 23.

Even if I renewed my registration today on my 2021, it would expire in Oct 2024.

 

Fishy is inadequate. I may roll the dice and leave mine there for a week and if im really lucky, they'll do an LS swap for free

 

you're right. They changed the dash for the 2023 model

 

Armchair internet detective here - what I see are pictures of a white vehicle until the last one, where it seems to change to MGM type color hood
