I've had the weather tech too. I actually prefer the AVS but either one is fine as a product. It's just some days I hate the way they look.

i feel the same way about my Yakima rack. Some days i love the look but other days i hate the wind noise it produces at highway speeds

I had the same rack on my 03 4Runner. The wind was a thing but without dissing your choice, I found it limited functionally and ended up ditching it for something with a larger footprint, lower profile and a more conventional bar system.

I love mine. And given it's coming up to be warm weather, bugs have started to come out in full force. Just ask the front of my 4R. Windshield survived a trip into the Missi'ppi Delta. As they, IYKYK.

unfortunately i didnt have a choice as it came standard on the trail edition. I could have done without it just like that droning TRD exhaust.

What did I do today you may ask? Installed some Baja Design Fog lights and some off brand ditch lights from Amazon. I'm sorta on the fence about the ditch lights. There's nothing wrong with them

    OEM fog lights:

I have the Weathertech as well but it didn't stop the rock that hit my windshield with only 800 miles on my 2023. Oh well.

I can never decide on the bug guard and your pics have been helpful because I have the same truck and color.

As for the basket the sound doesn’t bother me, the vehicle loud in the highway or in rain anyways because there’s little to none sound dampening. And that’s fine, I didn’t but the truck for that. I actually took mine off for the winter because I didn’t want it carrying a frozen block of ice after snow and I knew it would be a pain to get all the snow cleared. I just put it back on Monday.

The rear has none that I’ve seen. I haven’t had it all apart but basically right under the plastic it the body of the truck. No dampening. But that’s ok.

    thx

i have a 2011 SR5 w/o a rack and set up just like my 2022 and it is very quiet on the highway even at 75+. I dont know why, maybe better sound dampening back then?

Something I wish I did the first month I had it, painted the valence on the rear part of the bumper. I bought Plasti Dip, but I wish I bought proper automotive paint instead, as sanding the first coat of paint doesn’t work so well on this stuff. And I also wish I had one of those spray can grip sprayers, as it would’ve helped me get a much smoother finish. In any case, it looks so much better, and I know I can easily take it apart and redo it. Feels like I still have a 1/3rd of the can left. Going to the front next, see if I can try and stick to the remainder can, as I’m cheap, lol. Total cost $26 Cdn, and about 2 hrs (plus waiting for paint to dry). Now that I know what I’m doing, I can probably do it in 45 mins or less (rear bumper only).

Thanks! Just a recommendation if you haven't upgraded yet. This dashcam is awesome, when I load up the rear with gear, it still lets me see out the back, don't see the headrest and able to see down low backing up by panning up or down.. Only negative about it is when it rains because the camera is outside, which is why I wanted to put it inside, not a deal breaker.

havent put too many miles on them yet but my immediate reaction has been they’re great! Super smooth ride and the noise level is noticeably quieter! Although I had worn out wrangler mud terrains so probably any tire would have been quieter lol. The tire shop mentioned one didn’t look like it was perfectly round ( apparently it was noticeable when they had it on the balancing machine) but they were able to balance all of them supposedly. Haven’t noticed it at all yet

I FINALLY got around to installing my ARB dual compressor. Been sitting on the dining room table a month or six. I got creative and just hardwired it with a manual switch and a Metro 150 connector and a "waterproof" Amazon switch. Only using it for airing up and airing down so I went manual instead of using their harness.
275/70/17 airs from 18psig to 42psig in just about 66 seconds.

Nice addition. If you don't mind sharing, why did you choose driver's side vs. passenger side where there appears to be more available space? The obvious answer would be proximity to the battery but I'm curious.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this and an ARB locker this summer. Trying to decide on mounting and tube/wire routing.

How difficult is it to get the 4Runner to recognize the different TPMS sensors when you mount up the different wheels?

I used Rago mount (driver side) because I have the C4 dual battery mout on the passenger side for the fridge (that we haven't bought yet) haha. My wife and 8 year old like popsicles when camping and I like ice in my cocktails! Haha! I am a backpack type camper but this glamping is getting pretty nice!

Yeah I've been looking at some, got a full rear bumper + tire carrier on the way, already have relocation wiring planned for the stock camera but might add on one of these mirrors for better viewing.

I have mine on the passenger side with the bandi mount (unfortunately he doesn't make mounts anymore) mainly for what you said tons more space and I don't love the ARB protruding over the fuse box cover.

Thanks for that. I think that's what I'm looking for. I'll have to do some searching for a passenger side mount, but there as to be a reason why everyone fabs them for driver's side. Might end up making my own.
