You won't regret it for a second. That other brand is probably fine, bit Eibach has been doing this along time. As long as it took them you know they did the R&D!

 

@Thatbassguy @nimby thoughts on the ratings for the tires? Seeing speed ratings and load ratings as well as light truck vs regular p (for nitto). Both toyo and nitto are pretty close in price

 

You can get the Toyos in P rated and they're super light. If you don't off-road much, this might be a good option as you won't lose as much fuel economy, and it will accelerate better.

I'm on the C rated version. I really only notice the difference when I'm heavy on the throttle. It still gets in and out of traffic just fine.

The load range E version of the Toyos is only 1# heavier than my C's, so probably a good option if you're off-road a lot.

I don't know much about the Nittos.

 

what’s your MPG on those? I think the nitto LT’s are like 7-9lbs heavier per tire

 

The Nitto RG is pretty loud and rough too. They’re not the smoothest ride if you’ve never had them. My brother has 285/70/17 and they look great but not a great ride if you drive a lot on road. If y’all know anyone wanting a set of M/T that are great I have a set of 295/70/17 BFG KM3 with only 20 miles on them. Set of 5 I’d give someone a good deal on. Took them off my Jeep when I traded it in for 4Runner and they’re brand new. Basically same height as 285 just a little wider.

I'm getting 15-19 depending on what I'm doing. This is with basically full armor, lift, roof basket, and always lugging extra weight(tools, recovery gear, etc). This is also more accurate than with stock size tires, as the speedo is accurate with 285's. They read high with stock size tires.

I concur. If you're frequenting trails with sharp rocks, LT (or C-rated) will be better for your situation.

If you're doing fire roads, mellow trails, and mostly street driving then you'll be fine with P-rated tires.

 

Yes they’re awesome. The quietest smoothest M/t I’ve ever ran and I’ve ran a lot. They were as smooth as my KO2 I ran and just a little louder. I need to find a Tacoma owner for them probably. Didn’t mean to highjack the thread but someone may want them since we got on tires.

So you were sitting a little higher than stock before the springs then? Did you have the spacers taken off prior to the install of your new springs?

Ordered ridge grapplers in 285’s. May have got a little overzealous cuz I’m not sure if they’ll fit without rubbing. Doing bumper chop at end of month

 

I was going to ask the same question! I have a little second hand ARB. It's nice, but a little smaller than I'd like.

Just get them and deal with the rubbing as necessary. When you get your alignment, tell them to give you as much caster as possible while keeping camber and toe in spec. I didn't do that, and had to get it done again later.

 

Dude cannot wait to see them hope it works out. That’s what I want to do but don’t know if there going to clear with my SCS wheels with being 8.5 inch wheel.

 

Went ahead and took the mud flaps off and cut some of the fender. Install within the next couple of hours

Are you doing the standard bumper cuts? I don't think you should need to cut/adjust anything but the mud-flaps and possibly a BMC if the alignment doesn't give you enough clearance

 

I cut a piece off the bottom inside bumper. Pics soon. The front plastic rubs like a mofo so I’ll heat gun that some more, and I will need to have some metal cut on full turn reverse cuz it’s about .25 from rubbing on flat ground. I said fuggit and put them on. My tundra rubbed like a bastage compared to this
