I’m a newb with a 2016 SR5. I decided to change my own fluids. I’m uncertain but being led to believe there is a single central point where I can raise the front then place my jacks under the frame. Is this true? Is it the round bump I see on the skid plate? And, is the skid plate reinforced so I don’t have to remove it? (My thought is it doesn’t make sense to squeeze under to remove the plate so that you can then lift the 4R so you don’t have to squeeze under. But what do I know?). Thank you for your insights

You can jack directly on the round bump in the middle/back of the front skid plate:

I would use a small block of 2x4 on top of my floor jack "cup" to prevent marring/denting of the area around the skid plate lift point.

However, you do need to remove the plastic valence and front skid to access the filter housing anyway. I guess you could jack up the front, place your stands, remove the jack and then remove the valence and front skid. But on level ground, there is just enough room to unhook the skid from it's front attachment point. I always removed the front skid before jacking the front up.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, if I was just doing an oil change, I wouldn't jack the truck up at all. It's a little cramped but doable. I only ever put the front up on stands if I was going to rotate the tires as well.

Thanks. So, I’m replacing the front diff oil. I have jacks but no ramps. I just wanted to get a confirmation that the factory skid plate on the SR5 is reinforced so I can lift it where you indicated on the photo.

    Hey @Michael95
Took me bloody forever but I found the photos I have saved on this front jack point.
I’ve been down the rabbit hole on this answer in the past, and when searching the site I kept finding me talking lol
I believe this is what the reinforcement location looks like under the skid (red arrow)
