Would have also been nice to see years/models. I believe it mostly affected builds from certain factories but could be wrong.

Either way no paint issues (other than stone chips that no color would prevent) on my 21 stormtrooper

I purchased my 23 in Lunar Rock, but Ice Cap was my (distant) second choice.

Just picked up a Silver ORP. Had a choice between CSM and UG. Saw them after it had rained and went with CSM. UG looks really good cleaned up and would be my choice over white.

Yeah, my first choice was Ice Cap, but it was hard to get so I went with Classic Silver, which the dealer had on allocation. I'm glad it turned out that way.

These are 2019. When a TSB is released. Future models painted in that color have the issue addressed.

Also, super white. Not ice cap. Even if same color code, the year limit is 2019 and certainly a resolved issue post tsb.

Yeah called Super White II now.
My wife had the 2nd year Honda Accord 2Dr V6 Black. That paint had issues & they repainted it under warranty. They were limiting dealers to just 2 allocated that year.

That's nice to hear that Honda paint it under warranty. There's a Honda paint issues group trying to help each other/ fight to force Honda to paint under warranty or something like Toyota and Lexus doing for white paint issues.

It's similar to gloss gray colors that cars have been painted for many decades. What's the gimmick?

it’s a strange flat glossy color. Definitely an odd ball. Popularized only in recent years with ‘em fake off road trims for family CUVs - slap a trail badge and give it a flat color treatment..

Perhaps you need to learn what flat means (hint: it's the opposite of glossy) so you stop using the wrong term....

They're certainly not something only popularized in recent years. If anything they are the clean classic look that's remained consistent since cars started being painted colors besides black, despite changing trends toward two tone, metallic, pearl, satin, matte, wraps, etc.

    Flat means no metallic flakes.

The opposite of glossy is matte

Maybe in your mind but not to the paint industry, dictionaries or any other actual source of fact.

Ice cap accentuates the beauty in the lines of the car. The lift. It’s stance. The unique windows. Etc.

Underground looks pretty good on the pro/with black accents. It reminds me a lot of army green in that it's somewhat dull and shows everything. I just sold my army green and have an ice cap on the way.

My vote is for underground. Prior to underground, every car I've ever owned was white (excluding one black Mitsubishi). It's a classic color and you can never go wrong with it. Personally, I've been drawn to the "creamy" colors over the last couple of years so when they announced underground for the 4 runner and I saw it on the corolla/camry, I knew that was what I wanted. I do a double take every time I see my car.

At the end of the day, it's all about personal preference.

I’m like six weeks in with Underground. The color is pretty easy to like. It has a nice depth to it. It is not matte… it is clearcoat over dark gray with no metal flake. That gives it kind of a mirror depth when clean but a pseudo-matte appearance when dirty. It definitely shows dirt and chips easily but truthfully it is really a cool color. More maintenance and washing if you like your ride to look perfectly clean but it looks good in a rugged way when dusty (if that makes sense)
