My wife and I are looking at are first Toyota ever we like all the comforts on the limited model things I dont like trying to do a build on line what a pain and ever since covid Toyota does not take orders like what the &%&%%. We looked at trd premium but with no leather or cooled seats its out so we decided to only do the limited not a fan of full time 4x4 but what can you do since no dealers do discounts on the trd pro and will only do invoice pricing on the limited and premium I've seen limited0 anywhere from 51200 to 55400 retail can't seem to find differences between the 2 units Does anybody know all the adds from Toyota for limited model I don't care about small difference in price just don't want to miss having factory items on new unit any suggestions on limited we like the off white with the redwood leather figure with 3 dogs can't trash interior color versing the beige don't like black have a Mercedes c350 with black interior and ram 3500 mega cab with black interior time to change. I seen a limited at almost 56000 and a invoice just back of 50000. What is the dream limited 4runner ???

Too poor to buy anything now
Tough but honest question. What I prefer and what you prefer possibly are totally different. But my 2 cents is that you've already made the choice for the Limited and I agree with you on that. If you haven't already done it, go to the "build" section of the Toyota website and browse the options for the Limited.
Also, decide if you do want the "Xreas" suspension feature which is standard on the Limited.
I'm not 100% sure of this but if running boards are in your needs, the Limited may have fewer choices due to the valence trim piece below the doors.

Holy run on sentence. Toyota has never taken orders. Not a pandemic thing. Limited is a good choice and so is the redwood interior (we have two with that interior). This will give you all the standard features of a Limited and all the options. At least then you can see what each Limited/dealer is offering as the add ons. Base MSRP for a 4x4 Limited before any add ons is $53,470.

The only 3 options that you should think about are automatic running boards, 3rd row seating, and/or rear sliding cargo tray. These are all factory-installed-options. Everything else can be added after you purchase, if you decide to do so.

Not sure why you are "not a fan of full time 4x4" - but the full time 4WD system on the Limited is the tits. Don't confuse it with AWD. It has a lockable center diff and a dual range transfer case. With the stock tires/wheels it will take you just about anywhere you would want to go. Obviously the stock wheels/tires and XREAS suspension are more on road oriented - but with off-road tires it will pretty much go anywhere any other un-lifted 4Runner could go.

Not a fan of the automatic running boards - prefer normal running boards - have the Toyota Nightshade boards on mine and like them. I think the 3rd row seating option tries to make the 4Runner into something it is not - a 7 passenger vehicle. Technically it does - but not very well. 3rd row is difficult to get into - unless you are just needing small kids to ride back there - and the back of the 3rd row seat is pretty much right up against the rear window = zero rear storage area. With the 3rd row in maybe you could put a couple of grocery bags in there. If you really need a 7 passenger vehicle - the 4Runner ain't it. Rear sliding cargo tray could be very useful to some people - depends on what you plan to haul back there. I don't have it and with how I use the rear storage area would not want it.

That's been the norm for years now. You get allocations but you do not get to build up your own.

It works just fine and you can lock it into part time 4wd.

So how do you make it part time 4wd? the selector is in 4 Hi Free when normal driving and the other 2 choices is 4 Hi Locked and 4 Low. I would definitely like to know how to do this.

It has a center lock so just lock it into H4L and it's like any other standard 4wd and it has a low range. You don't get 2wd if that's what you're looking for but there is no need for 2wd when you have full time 4wd.

    You’d have to go buy a 4th gen V6 4WD 4Runner for that. (or those later 4WD 3rd gen’s)

The V8 4WD and 5th gen FT/Limited front axles are hooked up permanently.

They mean - not that you can switch to 2WD - but that you can still lock the center for the same 4Hi/Lo behavior that part-time models have.

Thank you. I was under the impression that there was some sort of way to make it 2wd electronically. That's why I ask because that would have been news to me if that was even possible. The limited is perfect just the way it is with the full time 4wd

lol what comforts? The limited trim just has brown leather and ventilated seats… full time 4wd is its biggest selling point. If you don’t care for that just buy any of the premium trims…

I'd pretty much agree with this. Other than real leather seats and full time 4WD - the premium trims and the PRO have nearly all the convenience/comfort features that the Limited has. There is only 1 feature that I can think of that only the Limited has - that I would miss - and I didn't even know it had it when I bought it. The Limited has touch-sensor lock/unlock door handles. When you grab the door handle with the key fob in your pocket the doors unlock. When you get out of the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket and touch the top/front of the door handle it locks all the doors. I like this because I never have to take the key fob out of my pocket. I doubt this feature would sway anyone from a non-Limited to a Limited - just a small feature that only the Limited has that I would miss.

That's across the board now for the US. The one feature that isn't is the dual zone climate control.

Who wants a power tailgate? So some goober can press the power liftgate button when you have a bike rack on the back? No thanks. I wouldn't say the Limited is really any more luxurious than the premium/Pro trims. Wasn't aware that those other trims had the touch-sensor door handles - its good that they do - nice feature. As Whippersnapper points out the dual zone climate control and heated/ventilated seats are nice - especially if your wife likes it warm and you like it cool - but I could live without it. Can't speak for all the Limited owners, but whether the Limited was more luxurious than the other trims was never a factor in my decision to go with a Limited. Full time 4WD + leather seats made my decision. I don't purposely off-road. 95% of my driving is going to be on paved roads. I wanted the full time 4WD for use in the snow and the ~5% of the time I'm driving on dirt, gravel, trailhead/river bottom roads. I get it though- your one of those dudes that lurks out there looking for threads about 4Runner Limiteds so you can then come in and bash it. If thats what does it for you - keep on keepin' on man.

Keep telling yourself that. These idiotic posts in a thread that you don't even care about - tells us all we need to know. Severe insecurity and low self esteem. The thought of anyone being better than you or having something better than you is unbearable. Your posts are designed to anger people and provoke a series of increasingly angrier replies. That's what you need to boost your ridiculously low self esteem. The problem with that is people like you don't anger people like me. Your intent to provoke anger, over something so stupid, simply makes me feel sorry for you. Yeah, there are plenty of others like you on sites like this that will indulge your desire for a pissing match. You, and they, are the ones who ruin places like this for everyone else. Have a nice life.
