That's not too bad. Looks like oil wasn't changed as often as it should be though. When I pulled the valve covers on my 285k engine, it was beautiful inside.

That’s what I was thinking - is there anything I could add w oil liquid liquid Molly or would that cause other issues ? This is the first time changing the oil since I’ve had her.

I would just change it often from here on out. A few oil changes with good quality filters and oil will clean it out.

Looks great. An oil with lots of detergents will help keep the engine clean but is not necessary. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum comes to mind.
Overall though I don't see any sludge so just keep the oil changed and she's golden. Pun not intended.

Pennzoil will clean that. Amsoil will work better but is expensive

Now a stupid question - when using the Toyota Seal Packing 103 (FIPG) there was a video that said not to apply in the groove of the water pump however I’m doing the oil pump and it seem per the manual you apply into the groove - am I overthinking things ? And what is the metal tool with the material ? Clearly I’m a newbie at this !!
