My 2018 4runner LTD has around 43K miles and the front end clunks when making hard right turns in 4WD. Is this related to tie rods or CV? It also makes a soft squeak/wheeze sound when going over bumps slowly (like out of your driveway). Seems like a suspension problem but not sure what this vehicle has up front.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

When you say “in 4WD” are you in H4F or H4L at the time of clunking?

And you can't get it to make the noise in 2WD?

Loose sway bar links and loose alignment cams are normally the cause of a clunk in the front, but if those have never been messed with, those shouldn't be making any noise.

If the suspension is not OE, then it's probably something to do with that

Being a 5th gen Limited, it's permanently in 4WD, the only options are to lock the center and shift into low range.

If it's turning related like it sounds, I'd check the CVs to start.
