    Post it up!!

Some look at pinstripes as a badge of honor. But if you ever upgrade, your local dealer appraiser wont......

So outside of your fancy wash wand with soap made from the sweat of endangered Persian Unicorns, what products and routines do you follow?

    Wash once every 3 months.

    Wax every couple years.

Never ceramic because it's a scam!!

Orbital buffer with a foam bonnet to apply wax. 6 Terri-Cloth bonnets to remove the wax. I use Meguiars. Twice a year.

Wash about every 2 weeks with Meguiars Ultimate wash & wax. Once a month I wash than use Meguiars Quick Ceramic Wax. Works good enough for me, I’m old school, came from a family that owned Low Riders mainly Impala’s and Bel Air’s we would spend an entire Saturday washing, waxing cars, then go cruising the Boulevard that evening.

I saw some posts in the 5th gen forum removing pinstripes.

I'm assuming people are using compound to cut into the clear and smooth out?

I have a tub of hundreds of dollars of griots stuff including their polisher. I’ve used it once.

With it being hot as hell, I wash maybe once a week. I’ve been exclusively using spray on “ceramic” coatings for the last 2 years.

I’ll do a full clay/polish/wax if I have the time in the fall

Both very solid choices. The wash and wax soap is still a favorite of mine. 303 sealant is my favorite spray coating out of everything I’ve tried, including meguiars.

C'mon nimby. Inquiring minds and all that. Sincere request. What the beef with ceramics?

It’s a ridiculously priced service that can be done at home for a fraction. People also have overtly high expectations of what ceramic will do.

    Basically this.

I was being slightly controversial just for fun.

I have nothing against a ceramic coats themselves......just some of the ones that market 7 year protection. I think that's BS.

Ceramic coating is great for mall crawlers ;)

Seriously though that shit is rendered useless after a few scrapes from the scrub oak and willows here.

LOL ceramic is not a scam. Also, you may as well not even bother waxing, as even the best wax only lasts up to a few months, and that is in perfect conditions. That said, sounds like you don't care either way, it's a 4Runner so some aren't made to be pretty all the time, right?

I also use the wash and wax but if I want to keep it dry I use this. And you can use it in direct sun.C4AA14AD-6074-42F5-A5BE-89AF9F504A40.jpg

Saw it. Technology has caught up to everything, including ceramic coatings. 7 year durability quotes was like, 3 years ago.
