Looking to see if anyone knows of a PDF schematic for a 5th Generation 4Runner? Specifically I'm looking for the circuit that powers the 12vdc power plug in the cargo area. I want to change it to a constant power "on" vice "key on power". Also looking for any unused wires that come through the firewall from the engine compartment. I have future plans of installing some emergency LED strobes and would rather use existing wiring, if possible, than try an create a new pathway through the firewall. Most vehicles usually have unused circuits for accessories that vehicles may not be equipped with - this would save from creating extra holes in the firewall which I really do not want to do.

Thanks for any help on this. Mike

You can make all accessory outlets to constant 12V with this mod, see post #17.
    https://www.4runners.com/threads/rear-12v-outlet.18459/#post-221350

If you just wanted that one outlet hot you could run a wire from the driver side underdash fusebox spare location (see photos in linked post) to the rear. Connect it to the outlet hot lead instead of the ignition switched 12V wire. You could even install a SPDT switch to select between the switched or constant power.

Use a multimeter to verify all of your connections.

Also, you will need to remove the passenger side wheel well cover tray. Search around, there’s advice for how to pry it up to remove the two screws underneath, or brute force it off.
