Wiring mess..

So awhile back I blew up my original 22re in my 1987 4Runner.
A buddy of mine picked up a crashed
And Rolledover 1991 4x4 from down south and I pulled the engine and tranny for my 1987. So my other friend cut the wiring harness just after the fuse box in the engine compartment and then disposed of
My 1987 engine without me knowing So I was left with the cut off 1987 chassis wires sticking up near the battery box and the 1991 engine harness cut off with that mass of wires
But from 1987-1991 the color of the wires had changed so I took on the task of trying to mend the two harnesses together from sum pin out info I got off the internet. I got the truck to start and run but still have several wires not connected on both harnesses and the truck has major Hesitation when you give it gas and sometimes dies right away and the idle is high it won’t even Let me rev it up and slowly let out the clutch it still wants to die. Where should I go from here buy another 1987 harness and put it in and change any plugs on engine that are different? I kno the fuel injection plugs are different who knows what else.. can anyone help?

 

No expert on the older 4R.

But is the throttle on the 1987 not cable? If its sticking could just be gunked up
