the regular 4R UCAs? Are the older Fox versions not any good? I think they had a noise problem or something like that so they revised the ends of the coils? Any other differences?

The Pro Bro uppers are not different from the other models.

Unless you're getting a smoking deal, you can do better with King, Icon or even off the shelf Fox.

The UCAs are the same across all trim levels. Toyota should have released the 22 4runner Pro w/ the same design UCA like they did on the tacomas trd pro. I also agree with whippers, a lot of sellers are asking upwards of 1500+ for take offs. At that price point, its not even worth it anymore. You could add a few more benjamins and get something better. Cheapest I've ever seen for these take offs was $600 (complete front and just rear shocks).

    This^^^

Except, I would buy anything but Icon.

Fox, King, Elka, Radflo, Dobinson and maybe a few others will be comparable or better than the PRO setup.

Thanks for the info. I was just looking at the Pro Fox fronts since they only lift 1" and that's pretty much a given and not a guess like others might be. Would have to find two rights or two left fronts to work with KDSS. Probably will just do Bilsteins at .85.

@Thatbassguy would you suggest going for something like Bilsteins6112 front + 5160 rear over TRD Fox take offs? I thought it would be a better choice and price is also reasonable imo.

    Edit -

Just adding little details why I think that way is because when they were both out side the vehicle Bilstiens seems to be longer than TRD Pro fox so I would assume longer shocks like Bilstien 5100 or 6112 would give more flex than TRD PRo Fox. I could be wrong, not a suspension tech, just based on what I saw on the shop floor.

I'm not a fan of Icon either. At least not since all those top hat failures.

If you get a good price on them, and they give you the stance you want, there's no reason not to use the PRO setup.

Like @kmeeg mentioned, I have a Bilstein 6112/5100 setup and I think it's a good value for the cost as compared to a 2.5" Reservoir setup. The ride is firm, but I went with medium load springs in front and heavy load springs in back.

I kinda wish they gad something more comparable to a 6112 for the rear, as the 5100's can get a little bouncy on whoops. I'm not sure if 5160's would be much if an upgrade, but I might have bought them instead if I did it over again.

If money isn't a concern when I replace them, I'll probably upgrade to Radflo, Fox, or Dobinson. But, there are other options worth looking at as well.

If you get adjustable coilovers, you should be able to adjust them to whatever height you prefer.

The 6112s are pretty much nonexistent right now. I wonder how the Pro Fox rears would work in your case compared with the 5100s? I think I could find a pair of new right front Pro Fox shocks but the cost would be at least $1200 so probably not worth it.

That issue has been long addressed. I've heard good and bad about icons, also about fox and kings as well. Every manufacturer will have good and bad. I have icons and dont have any issues. We'll see if and when I do how their customer service is. But as of now, no complaints! They ride awesome. Cant compare to others except the billys.

Their customer service is supposed to be very good. But, I hear about more issues with them (leaking) than any other manufacturer.

I hear that too. I've yet to experience it. I've read (forgot where) someone had issues w/ kings leaking as well, got it repaired and same thing happened again. Almost same scenario as icons. He finally got fed up and switched. I believe (JMHO) people don't post their negative experiences with king or fox (as much) in fear of being ridiculed because 99% of people tend to agree they are the end all be all TOP of the line suspensions. Top of the line is subjective to one's opinion. I think they're all equal. Whatever the best pricing you can get, send it. Reason I have icons lol. Had I got kings or fox or elka for the price I paid for my icons, I would've chose them too.

I hope they serve you well! I have no personal experience with any of those brand (except a Fox shock on my mountain bike :D) so I can't argue either way. It's just based on what I've read, and people I know who have used them.

Every product will have issues, for sure. It could be like KO2's where 90% of the people who use them love them, and the others say they're garbage.

I was thinking of maybe trying out Fox DSC or Dobinson's MRA if I ever get rid of these icons. Maybe one day if I feel like making the change. As of now, I see no need. I'm always itching to change things out once I get bored of it. Went from bilstein 5100, to fox 2.0 and now icons all within 1.5 years. lol my wife still thinks I'm on $600 bilsteins.

Were the Fox 2.0s a significant upgrade from the 5100s?

Most definitely. I (personally) wouldn't recommend going with either set. I'd look into Dobinsons. 5100 was a harsh ride, a little too harsh for my liking, go off road with them and you'll feel every single bump. Fox 2.0 was great, rode smoother than the 5100, great for everyday driving, a lot better than stocks but wasn't getting the lift I wanted (3"). Plus after getting it, I read into the rebuilding of the 2.0 and it's a PITA. Accutuned won't even do them and they're masters at this.

But at the end, all them can do what you want. It's all subjective to how much you're willing to spend is all. Buy once, cry once!

Thanks for the info. The Fox 2.0 looks like a decent shock but the height adjustment seems like a pain. I think you have to take them off and compress the spring to turn the height adjuster.

Yes it’s recommended to have it adjusted off the vehicle. My icons, I’ve tried it in the vehicle and it was also a PITA. I just ended doing it off as well.
