Will this ECM work in my 85 4Runner?

    My ecm when out on my 85 and I found one with the same pins and everything but has different numbers on the top would this one work as long as it still says 22r on the top of it

    Welcome from Wisconsin! Can't really help out on the ECM, are you able to try it before you buy it? If so, plug it in and try it.

    First did you read the codes to determine that the CPU it's bad? 13 blinks from the check engine light and you have a bad CPU, with possible combinations of blinks, that, could spell more trouble. Count them off.

    Pictures and numbers would help, that said, I have an 85 too and from what I've heard and had to deal with is that the 85 and only the 85 from what I know, the CPU had a flaw in reading the O2 sensor and it put the fuel injection system into " limp home mode " read 15 to 16 MPG.

    Any 1st gen 22REC CPU will work - just don't get one from an 85.
