Do you prefer the raised white lettering visible or not?

Well, a lot of people are actually buying white stick on letters FOR the sidewalls.

White lettering, not walls. Walls are the "stripe" that goes all the way around.

White lettering has become popular again since its downturn in the 80's. Some tire companies make black walls on both sides, some white lettering on one side. If it is black wall only, white pens intended for coloring int he letters are easy to find or in the tuner world, white vinyl letters are available. Personally, the letters degrade pretty quickly and pens get dirty and have to be reapplied often.

Depends on the font and general theme of the vehicle.

I like the Cooper font, so I'd run them OWL out. I don't like the font on my Generals, so they're OWL in.

Also, white letters look good on retro builds, and white vehicles.

I like the looks of white letters but last time I had them they were impossible to keep clean if you are in the mud and scrubbing them repeatedly trying just wore them off/cracked them

I think the white letters out look best on older vehicles, a MUST for the first gen 4R imho.

White letters out give a bit more classic/vintage look IMO.

I’m kind of 50/50. Getting ready to order new tires, for my silver 4R, that have the white lettering, and going back and forth out or in.

on the army green Fj cruiser I had 10 years ago, had Firestone destination AT tires with white netting out and it looked sharp.

I like them out and have ever since my '89 Isuzu Trooper had Pirelli Scorpions with raised white letter but do whatever floats your boat - I don't care what others think :mudding:4Runner_8.jpg

When BFG sponsors a set of tires for me, I'll gladly mount them with the raised white letters out. Until then, they'll remain in as they have for the past 30 years.

Never white on the outside. Looks like an old man wearing the wrong color socks with shorts. ;)

I like black side out on my Runner, but there's been a few posted on here that look real good with the white letters out.

Had my Cooper Discoverers AT white inside. I just looked yesterday & the dealer I traded it in W/took them off & went W/OEM size Bridgestone Duelers!! Had 275/70/17" They also took D/S & Pax window tint off too. Doesn't look like they changed the from 0.85 setting above OEM struts. What a shame BUT I guess liability??:notsure:
https://www.bennetttoyotapa.com/used-Allentown-2018-Toyota-4Runner-TRD+Off+Road-JTEBU5JR9J5556864. I believe their asking price is what the MSRP was when I bought 5 yrs ago 22-Dec-2018 !!
