Anyone have any good sites to buy smoked headlights and taillights? I just bought my son his first car and we're trying to modify it to make it look less like a mom mobile (in my eyes).

Smoke tail lights- If someone rear ends you most likely will try to put the blame on you.

Smoked headlights- why you put yourself in danger reducing your night visibility?

"to make it look less like a mom mobile" - Look into lift and tires. Those 2 give really good looks to a 4Runner.

Me personally like 2023 LED headlights and don't see a need to change to a different LED housing but 4Runner has ton of headlight options if you want to increase light output from factory.

Aftermarket wider wheels, low profile bumpers provide great looks as well.

There's plenty of options for lights out there. USR, Morimoto, Alpharex and others. I wouldn't do anything smoked because it reduces output.

I'd be more concerned about the safety of the car than it looking like a mom mobile. Smoked lights reduce light output, the exact opposite of what you should want, it is as desirable as a ventilated condom or clear curtains.

Put a off road bumper on it or something.

Welcome. A little more context as to what year and model you have would be helpful.

Seems like money isn't a problem with buying a '23 SR5 for a first car. Why not do something with suspension and bumpers to make it less "mom like". Detracting from the safety of a really safe car by smoking headlights and taillights seems counter-intuitive. Especially if it's your kid's first car. I believe smoked lenses state "for show purposes only" or something to that effect.

For a first car I'd also have concerns putting in both money and safety-wise (both for those in and outside of the vehicle) going for a lift and/or metal bumper but we'd also be getting a little off what OP wants from us. I rocked a three-seated Sienna for my first car and I wasn't any less cool! ;)

And it's probably still running today! Mine was a 1973 Mustang. Probably not the safest, but damn, I sure wish I still had it. Immediately followed by a 1979, turd brown colored, VW Rabbit. So safe it often released smoke from behind the dashboard to tell me there was a problem!

To me they look like they’re trying to be a Ford. I just went black housing USR.

This is the light upgrade I was thinking about. They have it in red & smoked. I want the red but I originally wanted it because I thought it blinked upon hitting your brakes. This one does not blink.

    4runnerlifestyle com products/4runner-lifestyle-3rd-brake-light-replacement?_pos=1&_sid=c0d9ed915&_ss=r

JDMs version does blink but I don’t know if they make the red one. This video is for the smoked one. Never looked

JDM has okay products. They can be hit or miss with quality control

After working on my side mirrors today I did the smoked reverse 3rd brake light. Going to be selling it. I don’t like how it’s not bright thru the smoked lens. I’m keeping my oem in. I bought mine from 4runner lifestyle. My Morimoto tail lights are really bright compared to that light.
