    Hello All,
Ive landed on running 285/70R17 (Nitto Ridge Grapplers) wheels for my rig and Im overwhelmed with ply / speed rating and its effects with the added weight. I do not what to re-gear my rig (just yet) but Id like to get the biggest wheels etc. Here is where Im lost....with the (SL - standard load) tires they are the lightest at just shy of (49lbs) but only have a tread depth of 13.5. Is it worth going with the next weight up & adding 9lbs with the bigger depth? More tread on the tires would hopefully equal them wearing longer?

    Size Tread Depth Weight (LBS)
    285/70R17 116Q 13.5 48.74
    LT285/70R17 C 116/113Q 16.4 57.89
    LT285/70R17 E 121/118Q 16.4 57.89
    LT285/75R17 C 117/114Q 16.4 65.08

    Thanks-
