What to watch for in lifting 2023 TRD Off road?

I have a 2023 TRD off road with less then 1k. I like to level, but I hear I need to keep the rake due to TSS.
I want to stay under 3 inch with the lift and it is a daily driver, no wild off roading. What is a lift that works well with TSS?

Not too many TSS problems from the mere act of lifting. When people think it’s a TSS problem it’s usually something else like an
abs wire that got damaged during installation.

Lots of options out there. A two inch lift in front with an inch in the back levels it out pretty nice and probably wont require new UCAs.

An actual suspension lift with new springs/shocks is a safer bet than a spacer lift, as there is less potential for damaging suspension components long term…. Especially if you go higher than 2 or 2.5 inches.

 

I have a 2021 TRD OR and have made a few suspension updates that might be of interest to you.

The first upgrade was to level the rig, firm up the ride and reduce the nosedive that the OEM suspension delivers. I upgraded the shocks to Bilstein 5100's and set the adjustable circlip on the front shocks on the first setting above OEM (Bilstein claims 0.85" lift) and I got 1" of lift in front that leveled the vehicle. It also firmed up the ride and greatly reduced the nosedive. I was very happy with the stance and handling. The cost of the shocks was about $450 and I installed in my garage. It took me about 5 hours to install. I'll find a pic and upload later to show you what that addition looked like.

 

What you have done is what want and you have no issues with TSS or Adaptive cruse?

 

No issues. Both work normally.

The change in the aim of the TSS sensor and camera used for adaptive cruise caused by lifting the front 1” is no different than what it would be if you put enough cargo in the rear to weigh it down an inch. Toyota’s engineers didn’t create a system so sensitive to aim angle that it malfunctions under a cargo load.

I ran the Bilstein setup for about a year with no issues. Recently, I added skids, SSO bumper, winch and expedition roof rack that required heavier springs. I upgraded to Dobinsons springs (still using Bilstein shocks) that gave me a 2” lift and TSS and Adaptive cruise still work normally. I just got back from a 1,000 mile vacation trip where I used cruise from time to time and it worked just fine….

Wescott kit (2”/1.25”) on my ‘21 TRD and no TSS or adaptive cruise control issues whatsoever.

 

If you do what Bobby said,you will be happy. I did the exact same thing on mine years ago and it’s perfect for a daily driver.

I ordered today front 2.0 Aluma coil overs, the guy at Toytec recommended 1.5 poly spacers and 50935 Tuff Country UCA. I a little worried about the spacer making for a rougher ride and I not seeing great things on the Tuff Country UCA. what do you guys think?
