Have a carista that says it clears codes, but can no longer find the option to do so. What do you guys use to diagnose and clear codes?

I’ve been using the OBD LINK MX+ Purchased from Amazon. It’s a little expensive and works with an app. But has enhanced diagnostics for Toyota. I tested it out on the 4Runner but haven’t had a need to clear any codes yet. But it did clear the codes on my F150. I think it was 79.00 when I bought it.

I'm going to avoid the apps. Like the carista, one day the option is there and the next it's gone. No longevity with an app makes it an inferior tool in my mind.

Im pretty sure you need an active subscription on Carista to be able to clear codes. Either in the free one month after dongle purchase, or a paid monthly, 3-month, or yearly one.

There is no subscription with the OBD LINK MX+ I can’t see them removing the clear codes option, it’s a main feature. Anyway, it’s worked well for me so far. Had it for about a year now.

Yep, i paid my dues, now i don't even get the option. Reads 18 plus "ecu's" and a can change all the bells and whistles, just not clear codes any longer. Tried downloading the app again, to to avail. Going to play with the scangauge.

Here’s the other iPhone app I use to monitor engine parameters in real time, and to read/clear DTCs via the Carista dongle.
    Car Scanner ELM OBD2.
The developer regularly maintains and updates it.
I bought the Pro version for about $7 but the free version may clear codes also.
