So at this point I now have two jacked up rear bumpers. As a good millennial my initial instinct was to discard and replace them. Someone mentioned fixing them to me though. Intriguing.

On Blue Truck I guess the idea is just to take a hammer and 2x4 and whang away at it. I don't have high hopes for a satisfactory result if I do that. On White Truck I think it's more theoretical. Someone mentioned something about a fab shop but not much more.

At any rate, who do you guys think can fix these bumpers to like A- or better condition? And how do you think I go about finding such a person?

    TIA

The painted bumpers could be fixed, either by a body shop or a fab shop. Large dents could be pressed out enough that you can get an even surface with some filler and new paint. The end caps might be 3D printable, or there could be replacements.

If you are fine with the chrome bumper not being chrome, you can sand and fill in the dents with bondo before painting. I know the process of re-chroming, it's not cost effective here (rare skill requiring large submerging tanks of harsh chemicals). Chrome wraps do exist, I've never looked into it but that is the only cost effective option that I know of that will preserve that look.

I wouldn't be surprised they say to replace the chrome one if you want an A- look (whatever that means), the labor will add up fast.

If you search “metal bumper repair” you can find options. Bonus if they do chrome plating in house.
