What lift for 33-35” tires?

Takes more than a lift to fit 35s on these. There's a substantial amount of work to be done including a body mount chop and reworking the front fender wells, and 35s will really require a re-gear as well.

That's why 285/70/17 is the most popular size for these. They're a little under 33" tall and don't require as much work. A 2" lift (take your pick of brand) and possibly some trimming of plastic will do the trick.

I currently have 275/70/r17s on my 2006 with 2” lift. I’m looking to go to 285/70/r17s. Would there be any issues or would it just fit?? Don’t want to pick up a set and find myself needing to put in spacers and chop off plastic.

 

Any rubbing off road? Did you lift it?

 

No rubbing, I haven’t taken it off roading. The truck came already lifted from the previous owner.

no rubbing. Here what ive done:

2” lift Bilstein 6112 w/600 lb coils front, 1.5” lift Eibach T13 coils rear, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, 285/70/17 Falken WP AT3, Energy Suspension front bumpstops

 

I'm not sure how that would work on a 4th gen. On the 5th gen, 285's can usually fit with some minor adjustments. There might be some threads specifically about 4th gen tire fitment.

You can run 35s on a 4th gen with a 1" body lift and a full 3" suspension lift . I'm running 35s on that set up

 

Really? Full stuff and full lock? That would really surprise me, considering the amount of work it takes to fit anything over 33" on 5th gens.

 

Yea full stuff and lock . The 4th gens I think have a little bit bigger wheel well on them . But yeah I'm running a 1 inch body lift and a full 3-in suspension lift and I can stuff and turn the 35s no problem

Yea lol honestly, a lot of people got rid of their 4th gen to buy 5th gen and kind of regretted it . Plus mine is the 08 V8 limited AWD too

 

I traded mine for a Taco, and almost instantly regretted it. 22 months later I bought my '19. I was definitely happy to be back in a wagon. The only thing I really miss about the '03 is that V8.

 

Yea I love the V8 for sure . Hell I had a 07 taco too while I had the T4R . It was on 7" of lift . Chevy rear leaf springs ,shock relocation kit. Had 14" travel on the rear and 11" travel on the front lol . Regret selling it

Do you have a ceramic coating on it. Love the shine and I’m a garage trained detailer. Or I should say a YouTube trained detailer. Ok actually I’m a hack but I know enough to make my 4 runner look nice. What did you do to get that shine.

 

it is ceramic coated and i also have a touch up kit to maintain it at home.

Thanks, I've been thinking on a body lift too, cause I don't want to deal with suspension issues with lifts above 3".
