Guys, be honest please, no bias. Are jeeps really horrible and money pits? Can't one expect 200k reliable miles from this thing?
My God, this thing is such a king!!!!!!

Lol. Its not if, but when will you lay down a motorcycle. With a jeep……it’s not if something breaks, but when, and how many paychecks will it take to fix CORRECTLY.

Buy with the 35in tire package. It is well worth the money. You get things like lift + tires + beadlocking capable wheels + gears, etc... for just 4K...!!

Sounds like you want a Jeep.

The 2 door is a 2 passenger truck.

If I were buying a dedicated off-roader, I'd 100% buy a Jeep. But if I want a primary vehicle, with versatility, reliability, etc... 4Runner all the way. Depends on what you want, really.

I think people on Internet forums overstate problems with Jeeps.

Plus, if you hammer something on the trail every single weekend, shit is going to break.

I changed my mind, this thing will be a baggage of troubles, on top of the super high price. Plus I test drove this thing, it's not comfortable. With the 4Runner I will have peace of mind, it will start all the time, it will run all the time. I'm going to go ahead and order a 2022 with KDSS. Thank you everybody

A 2 door Wrangler is definitely a better trail toy than a 4runner. But, it might not be as nice for other things.

So true. I test drove it, I cannot imagine myself having a long road trip in this thing, it is not comfortable at all. 4Runner with kdss is awesome

Personally, I think people have so many problems with jeeps because they try and do things on the cheap. Cheap lift, shocks and tires will get you the death wobble and it will drive like shit. Slap some 37s on there and give it juice you end up with a broken axle. Is it the jeeps fault? Absolutely not. They are very capable rigs. It’s the owners fault for being cheap and not doing the job correctly the first time.

Honestly, the Jeep interior felt crappy and poorly screwed together compared to my 4Runner. If the interior is like that, God knows how the 8 speed transmission will be :D

No offence, but this Jeep itself felt cheap when I test drove it. So many added options and complexities, so much configuration. I can't believe things will not fall apart on this thing. Just too many things to break. Sorry, but that's how I felt after driving it and feeling it. Absolutely worth it if one has good net worth. Otherwise it is not worth borrowing money to buy this Jeep.

Looks like you have lot of love for the 4Runner but don't let that be a barrier / resistance to test others.

All I can tell is Jeep has lot of configurations so the way it drives, comfort, noise level change from configuration to configuration. Simple as from 2 door to 4door or soft top to hard top with lot of combinations. Factory / Mopar / After market suspension, steering stabilizer will change the way it handles alot.

I'm not trying act like I have lot of drive time like the 4Runners of almost every trim among our close friends gang, but I have few experience from test drives to office mates JK, JL and my neighbors YJ 2 door which I gave a helping hand on weekends building it. (which also help me to learn few mechanical stuff). You might have seen I was posting some pics when my friend bring his new Rubicon to my house when he purchased.

Don’t believe anything about the sixth generation, but 2023 will still be fifth.

5th is the best. Toyota should keep building it till 2050 :) Toyota should build some new SUV for people who like fancy tech.
