Wanted to confirm a 2024 TPMS sensor part # and ask for any aftermarket recommendations

Is the OEM part # for a model year 2024 4R... 42607-53020

Look like $250+ for a set of 4.

Anyone able to recommend a good aftermarket alternative that works? Link? Lots of apparent options out there. I sure some work and some don't.

Do you have a tire shop you like and use often? Ask if they sell a lot of them. Their distributors should turn over inventory if popular.
The sealed battery life starts when the TPMS sensor is manufactured. If old stock the lifespan in your tire might be affected.
The aftermarket might have fresher inventory?
Since the tire needs opening up then rebalanced, the sensor is only a portion of total cost.

 

Most aftermarket sensors do not work with the newer models.

 

This is simply not true - you just need to get the correct TPMS sensors for the year and model of your 4Runner. I would order these from Tire Rack for $42 each and have them sent directly to your nearest Discount Tire store for installation: TPMS for 2024 Toyota 4Runner 265/70-17

Thats the thing those are still expensive compared to the ones you can buy for older models.

I used these on my 2018 Tacoma but I've heard it doesn't work on newest vehicles still.

I like to go with oem parts. My dealer will price match BAM Wholesale. I picked up a sensor for $62 and a Pro wheel for $180. They programmed it for free. The part number you provided shows 2022-2024 4Runners in the Toyota part catalog.

 

The part number is correct. I used Autel sensors and programmed them to the stock Toyota sensor IDs that came with my new 2024. Worked like a charm. I paid $25 Canadian per sensor.

 

What programmer did you use?

I think the OBD 2 only tracks 4 sensors.
Anybody know if certain years & models track 5?

 

The 2020 will. I will have to try it on our 2016.

 

I have two of the Autel 508's. I may sell one. It is in brand new condition.
