    Hi all,

I'm looking for a mechanic near me (Mt. Shasta, CA) far Northern California to work on my '85 4Runner, 22RE. It runs great in the summer, runs rough and rich in the winter even after the engine is warm. I've had a few local mechanics look at it but nobody could solve it.

Any recommendations for an experienced 22RE mechanic near me that would be willing to take a crack at it?

    thx.

The Boys at Kimball autobody in Yreka know just about everything there is to know about those trucks.

Sounds like you might have a vaccum leak?

Thanks. The guys at 22RE Performance referred me to Jerry's Advanced Automotive in Chico. He has the 4Runner now, I'll let you know what happens.

Get thee to Mike's Custom Toy(ota)s in Grants Pass.

Nothing but great experiences from him when I lived out that way ( Eureka).

Jerry in Chico solved it! After a few standard troubleshooting tests with no changes, he installed a spare ECU he had in the shop and that was the problem. He found a used ECU on ebay, made the install and now it's running great, even in the snow!
