I recently purchased a 2000 sr5 and have been working on the 4wd. I come to the conclusion that the VSV valves for the 4wd are bad.
Question 1....would I get a code for these being bad?
Question 2.... where can I get new ones? The ones I have seen don't match up visually. ( mine have filters
on the bottoms and the ones I'm finding online do not.)
I tried searching on this forum but no luck.
    Thanks

TOYOTA should still sell those. A dealer can lookup your VIN and give you the correct part number for your car.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid the dealership, but off I go.

Get the parts numbers from the parts guy, then order from an online Toyota parts dealership. Like Ourisman from VA. Save 30%.

Or call them/email directly. They can look it up for you.

You do not want cheap crap when doing valves and sensors. Toyota all the way.

So I ordered two switches off Amazon, cause I just don't understand what the difference would be between valves. From what I have researched, they are basically just an on/off switch for air or vacuum. My 4wd now works as should. For how long? Who knows.
These are the switches I ordered.
    25860-62010 for Toyota.
(Sorry, but I don't know how to upload a link)
I did shave off the alignment lip on one of the switches to fit the blue connector.
